  • Thierry Small just scored a screamer for Preston.
Barry Bannon did the same for Wednesday.

Liam Manning is surely screwed if Norwich lose to Wendy's
  • Looking forward to Jones vs Moore at the weekend.

Manning can’t have long left if the players are openly arguing with him

I'm dying to see someone flatten Bannan.

Wrexham not looking that impressive. Moore is an obvious threat, and Sheaf is good in midfield.

I maintain what I said - last season after 14 games 3rd bottom was on 15 points.Tonight it is 9. 3rd bottom ended up on 49 points last year (under average).  The current table they are 6 points behind that score currently.

46 points is safety. Calling it.

Shane Duffy doesn’t doesn’t seem the best figure to have in the changing room.

If it was anyone else I would agree with you, but it’s Shane Duffy who I imagine would quite happily get into an argument with a paper bag he found on the street and then get outsmarted by it

Could be even lower. If you discount Sheff Wed (because with a 12 point deduction they in reality would need to get 58+ points to not get relegated) so then you are really only looking at a bottom 2. So what did 23rd place get in the past.

I'll stick my neck out and say 42-44 points will be 3rd bottom.

As good a start as we have had I don't think i'm alone in still looking at the bottom end of the table so it will be interesting to see what happens with the four games tonight - I had a look at the league table at this stage last season and third bottom was on 15 points - If the Wendies can get something out of Norwich tonight then third bottom will have 6 points less than that. Also the eventual bottom 3 were all already in the bottom 6 of the league by that stage last year.

For the optimists out there Burnley had the same number of points as us at the same stage... although they had the best defensive record in the league whereas we have the second best currently.
I agree. I'm a bit wary of Norwich and Sheff Utd making up two of the bottom three because I don't expect them to be down there at the end, they have enough quality to go on a bit of a run with the right change. Saints could also turn it around so it's worrying seeing Blackburn and Derby start to show up, especially with Hull and Stoke not living up to their expected relegation rivals tag. Pompey and Oxford feel like the ones we'd really like to see drop further and further back just because it will be harder for them to claw it back. QPR seem to changeable to be on for relegation. We need to keep winning games as quickly as possible, that's for sure
Most people said the same about Luton last season, but they still went down.

Once you're dubbed with the 'too good to go down' label you're doomed.

Duffy is a total prick, massive pisshead and Norwich fans hate him. No surprise he was hooked at half time after that incident with Manning.

That said i still have no idea how Manning wasn't sacked 2-3 weeks ago.

I always think of the West Ham team that had Di Canio in it when I hear that phrase. Great team. Still got relegated.

Also, us when we were top in early December and still got relegated in 96. Although to be honest we were in a false position then. We was grinding out results but the football was pretty dire and we got found out in the second half of the season.

I’m pretty sure Norwich and Sheffield Utd will get themselves out of trouble this season though.

The two clubs that should really be concerned are Portsmouth / Oxford

If the mini-Leagues that I imagined this season, they're already down there, and are only ahead of two teams that are massively under-achieving and have plenty of time to turn it around - Whilst four of the teams that I thought would be challenging with them, are all currently in the top six (Preston, Stoke, Hull and us)

Can still change of course, but at present, they're the two I'd see joining Sheff Wed.

Probably one of the craziest seasons in the Championship in a long time so far

Pompey's lack of goals is what's ultimately going to cost them , Colby Bishop looks miles out of form and the rest of their strikers are unproven.

You kind of expect gaps to open between groups of teams by now. What I mean is, you expect there to be a group of, say, 5 teams, then maybe a 3 or 4 point gap to another group of 3 or 4, then another gap of 2 or 3 points, and so on.
Right now, we have a situation where, between 2nd place and 21st place, every club is within 1 point of the team above and below.
I know it’s still early, so there’s time for the table to spread a bit, but it seems unusually tight to me!

Will be interesting to see if Portsmouth keep struggling at home this season. Won 40 of their overall 54 points from home games last year but have only won 2 out of 8 this year and have lost to Norwich and Sheffield Wednesday
