Due to how well we are both doing, I'm expecting one hell of an atmosphere at this game
Let’s see how we’re doing by the time the game comes around… 2 very tough games preceding it
Agree will do well to still be 9th when Coventry game comes around.
    That’s the spirit !!

Surely, either way, we’ll still be supporting our team as loudly and as proudly as possible, even if Southampton and Stoke beat us. There would be no shame in that, although I don’t see us losing both of those games

Exactly - whatever happens in the next 2 (and we could easily lose both) this is a huge away game and exactly why we want to be back at this level

for what it’s worth I don’t think we lose the next 2!

Reckon we will need 3 points from next two games to remain 9th...I'd settle for that, though a win and a draw would be nice. Beat Soton and draw at Stoke and we could even be top six...regardless Coventry away is always a good away day infact the cup game when we won 3-2 is still one of my favourite away games.
  • Only ever been to Highfield Road and drunk in that pub next to the ground that they split for home fans one side and away the other, where are people heading this time pre match ?

My last away day at Coventry was that first relegation season (98/99) when we lost 2-1 after being 1-0 up. They went down to 10 men and we still managed to lose the game; that was a somber trip home.

Muddy pitch seemed to effect us more then them.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but West Brom go to Coventry on 22nd, and they have been given 2,815!! So frustrating!

And as posted earlier it seems Norwich and Birmingham got likewise. Hopefully the club are pushing for more.

Charlton have requested more. I’m confident we’ll get block 9 added

After selling out the initial allocation of 2,000, the club have received an additional 127 tickets for the trip to Coventry City on Saturday, November 29th (KO 3pm GMT).

The extra tickets, which are located towards the front of block 8, will go on general sale from 11am on Monday, November 17th.

  • 127 is a pisstake. Can we for once reciprocate the gesture and only give these clubs the number of tickets they gave us.

We could but the club loves a pound note (Nothing wrong with that by the way) so they will sell what is available to them on New Years Day in the away end

Disappointing, we sell our 2k in just 2 days. Looks like they’re wanting Block 9 for home fans.

Something CAST need to take up with the Club as to why? Or the Fan Advocates? I'm assuming Coventry will cite increased demand from home supporters whom I assume are desperate to see the mighty Charlton Athletic in action too.

Can only think because we’re not being charged full fat £37 ticket prices (silver game or the equivalent?) they’ve probably decided to give us the minimum at £32 so they can sell block 9 at higher prices to home fans. Few assumptions here so stand to be corrected but it’s the only thing that makes sense if they are going to sell the ground out.

Very bizarre, we sell our 2k in just 2 days yet are the only away club not to be given Block 9
Reckon somebody at police admin has put us down as extra High risk on a database by mistake - we’re one of the only clubs to get held back at home 😂 not joking - I had to get police clearance recently for a job I’m doing and it took 3 attempts for the ‘officer’ to turn up for meetings she’d arranged with me - IT issues, called into meeting by her boss , misread an email - absolutely  useless - I’m not anti police but i can see how such a ridiculous thing could happen (I don’t think it has btw - just venting)

They are not obliged to. We have been given the amount which they have to give to away fans.

The club doesn’t want to be looking back at the end of the season and potentially missing out on promotion or failing to fight off relegation because they give away an advantage to another club because of liking pound notes. 2 games is six valuable points up for grabs and we’re letting Coventry give us less tickets in the away section at their ground and proposing to still give them the full allocation at the Valley. FFS, even a second season in the Championship will cost significantly more pound notes than this season. Every single advantage that can be gained has to be taken.

Not sure there’s any value. Looks like split Block 9 in half for the Sheffield United game last week, though United hadn’t sold their allocation like we had

What would be the point of only giving them 2,127 in the fixture at ours?

Fair enough if we’re going to sell out the home areas but we’re not and they will sell out the JSS so what would be the point in reducing there allocation out of spite?

this must be the 2nd or 3rd time this season this debate has come up.

Nathan and the players are doing their bit to try and succeed this season, the owners seem to be doing their bit to back them but it just seems the fans have bought into it and are trying to do their bit but are being held back.

127 extra is a disgrace there stadium holds just over 32,000 seriously

As per league rules, Coventry only have to give us 2k. As much as an extra 127 is stupid and in a block we'd already sold, they're actually technically giving us more tickets than they have to. Not sure CAST or the club can do much here.

"The extra tickets, which are located towards the front of block 8"

Given that we'd already been given, and sold out tickets for block 8 in the original allocation it does beg the question of why the fuck weren't the 127 just included in the original allocation?

Maybe not and I understand the EFL rules BUT why do they give an extra 800 tickets to some clubs and not others? I can understand it if we’d taken weeks to sell out and so they think we’d struggle to sell the rest but we sold out in the space of three days so the demand is there. I’m going to assume here that Charlton were told you can have the extra 700/800 but you have to pay for them up front and the Club were not confident we’d sell them and didn’t want to take a potential hit.

They started from Row F in Block 8, so make of that whay you will.
