Big ‘Charlton Cymru’ flag behind one of the goals in Liechtenstein. Think the same one has been on show at The Valley this season. Someone on here?

  • Pretty pathetic they only just beat the mighty Lichtenstein who are 206th in the world.
  • Whoopsie Scotland... Very lucky not to be 2-0 down

They didn't need to win, only to avoid losing. They weren't realistically going to win by enough to move ahead of North Macedonia and only need a draw in the final game, so they just needed to avoid defeat so they only need to win the last game and don't need to win by a large margin. The priority today was avoid losing, avoid injuries and don't collect any bookings that will rule out key players.

If it was England none of that would matter because they could play the second-string and still expect to smash Liechtenstein. Wales don't have that many international-standard players so the result was a pretty poor team.

That goal was a bit of a Greek tragedy for Craig Gordon

...and Che Adams is shite, missed two (practically) open goals in this game. Iwelumo at his Scotland best would have buried those blindfolded.

If Denmark go on to lose, Scotland only need a draw against Greece. Winning doesn’t do anything extra for them in that situation.

Denmark lose, Scotland draw = Denmark must beat Scotland to qualify

Denmark lose, Scotland win = Denmark would still qualify if they beat Scotland

How do Scotland not have a better keeper than him? He is 43 next month and doesn't even play for his club side.

To be fair he made several big saves in the first half.

    15th Nov:
    - Belgium will qualify if they win in Kazahkstan (2pm UK KO)
    - Spain, Austria and Switzerland can also qualify if multiple results go their way
Belgium draw 1-1 and will have to wait until the 18th when they play Liechtenstein at home.

    - Spain can qualify today if they get a better result against Georgia than Turkey do against Bulgaria.
    - Austria can qualify today if they beat Cyprus while Bosnia fail to beat Romania.
    - Switzerland can qualify today if they get a better result against Sweden than Kosovo do against Slovenia.
None of Spain, Austria or Switzerland qualified tonight. They all won but so did the nations chasing them (Turkey, Bosnia and Kosovo respectively). The fun part is that they all play each other instead of other minnows separately.

    Means on the 18th:

    - Spain can qualify win, draw or lose by 6 or less against Turkey otherwise Turkey qualifies.
    - Switzerland can qualify win, draw or lose by 5 or less against Kosovo otherwise Kosovo qualifies.
    - Austria can qualify win or draw against Bosnia but if Bosnia win, they will qualify instead.
    - Denmark can qualify win or draw against Scotland but if Scotland win, they will qualify instead.

    16th Nov
    - Portugal will qualify if they beat Armenia (2pm KO)
    - Norway will qualify if they win, draw or lose by no more than eight against Italy (7.45pm KO)
    - Nigeria v DR Congo to determine who qualifies for inter-continental playoffs (7pm KO)
Other matches to keep an eye on & will determine UEFA playoffs:

    - Hungary v Ireland (2pm KO) - Ireland must win, otherwise Hungary qualify for playoffs
    - Ukraine v Iceland (5pm KO) - Ukraine must win, otherwise Iceland qualify for playoffs

    Ireland started well
  • Ireland already goal down in Budapest after less than 5 minutes.

Ireland have to win for a place in the play offs.

    On the bench.
  • Shame... That was a good finish from Idah, but really well spotted from the Lino to notice the offside.
