Currently 16th and just 8 points from relegation
On the same number of points after 17 games as the last time we were in the Chanpionship back in 2019.

Great start, then injuries and a rough spell kicked in
Yes but it’s not 2019 ffs!!
Language Sword. It’s a guide from where we were last time to this.

    Take it or leave it
Circumstances and times are very different now just don’t see why we would make comparisons other than points gained. It could go worse or better.

NJ does not want a big squad, so talk of a lot of new players in January is not going to happen.
It would mean moving out a lot of players, which again is not going to happen
Perhaps one or two with the injured players coming back.
Mid table end of season and I would be happy
2 or maybe 3 incomings depending on what happens with Bree is what I think will happen. And that’s probably all we need
Whats happened with Bree by the way!!!

I've come round to the idea that actually the injury crisis has sort of come at an ok time. We were likely to lose Southampton through to Coventry anyway, maybe it would have been less demoralising but it would still have been losses. If we get Bell back for all of December and the others arrive around Christmas then we will pick up points again
Thinking that myself if it’s going to happen may as well be against the best 2 sides in the league and a reformed Southampton

Hmmmm, I'm not sure what will be said if we lose to either Oxford or Portsmouth!

    I’ll take that in May.
Yep, bite your hand off for that.

Those really are the games to be concerned about.  Coventry is almost a "gimme" but the recovery needs to start from Pompey.  Part of me says rest L Jones for Coventry, but equally we have little replacement and a cricket score result would be devastating, whereas a 1-0 defeat or a draw would be a motivational achievement.

Portsmouth and Oxford are both 3 point games which we really have to get something out of.

Portsmouth played some decent stuff last night at times all be it losing 3-0 to resurgent Sheff Utd and having a sending off for handball for the first goal (penalty).  Every team looks better than us especially when confidence is low. However Blackburn and QPR played out an awful game last night in the bits i saw.

It's going to be a long winter!

However, let's have a bit of faith in NJ.

If he delivers survival, that will do me.

    A tonking on Saturday beckons.
