I might have been guilty of taking players like Charlie Kelman, Amari’i Bell, Josh Edwards for granted, but we have not been able to replace them with anybody remotely adequate in those positions.  Just hope that whenever the game is rescheduled we will have them all back plus one or two decent reinforcements.

Never understand this thing about bookings standing in an abandoned game, either it happened or it didn't...

Felt we just didn’t get going, and were totally nervous whenever we had the ball!

TC unwilling to shoot summed it up, as did the 2 or 3 piss poor free kicks within 5 minutes that ended up being pinned back by a counter attack or a pompey set piece!

Worry for us Tuesday, but hopefully a few players back or at least fitter

Agreed... Red Cards should be the exception, as you've got to have done something very naughty for that to be given

We have a huge weakness on our left hand side. Hernandez simply isn’t up to it, I don’t know what’s happened to Macca (likely the lack of protection on his side) but he was barely breaking out of a jog and looked very pedestrian, hasn’t looked right since bell’s been injured. Thought Anderson actually looked decent, was refreshing to see some one in the doc role who didn’t need more than 2 touches and a bit of energy and pace about him.

Apart from that we were second best in the 15 mins we played by quite a way.

To me Hernandez looks absolutely lost.
Fish out of water having a winger playing as a left back & completely exposed, doesn’t look remotely comfortable when he’s playing with his back to goal - thought he played well against West Brom but has looked naff since the handball
Even against West Brom felt he looked like a round peg in a square hole

Feel a bit for Karoy finally getting his chance. Hopefully he starts midweek.

We didn’t settle, and that put Pompey tails up.
Herndaz keeps getting caught in possession.
Hope we have a few targets for January.

Hernandez is an incredibly poor wing back, has he ever played there before the last few games.  His weakness brings the absolute worst out of Gillesphey. I thought we looked in trouble and would likely have lost to what was a poor Pompey team.  I know he has not looked great but Rankin Costello has played loams of Championship games adls full/wing back it is ridiculous we have him in the bench with Hernandez starting.

If Jones booking stands then does the booking/games clock for Conor also advance and he moves on to the 10 count? (I think it's something like a 10 count....?)
I would think its based on the number of games the club itself plays.

1 match ban for 5 yellows after 19 games
2 match ban for 10 yellows after 32 games
3 match ban for 15 yellows after 38 games

Opposite side of the pitch though, I think people keep forgetting that Hernandez is playing because we don't have any other fit LEFT wing-backs, and shoe-horning in a right wing back on that side is just as bad, if not worse

Thought Pompey started well but we had settled by the time the game ended.

The rearranged game could see a significantly different Charlton line up.

Good tribute to Billy Bonds and Marvin Hinton.

    Crowd looked lower than recently.
Early KO, bad run and buying restrictions might all have impacted. Was an official figure given out?

    As for the match itself.......

We never got started & they looked more like scoring. 11mins & 30 secs played until the game was stopped and we were 2nd best all over the pitch.

Twice we left their player unmarked....once from a free kick & then from a corner. Hernandez is not a defender so please dont play him there. The longer this injury crisis continues the worse it will get. Sorry to say Nathan hasn't a clue who to play where. With Boro to come on Tuesday night I fear another defeat on the cards. Then its away to Birmingham. 😔

Hernandez is right footed, so no different to RC.

Onel Hernandez has played 170 professional games on the left and 110 on the right.

Joe Rankin-Costello has played 97 times on the right and 30 on the left.

    Very different

They concede a lot of goals from set pieces, yet we seemed intent on wasting them.

Hernandez looks hopeless - not sure what he contributes.

Hernandez is an inverted winger. RC may be used to playing on the right,  but at least is a defender.

Plus RC was someone we bought and gave a long contract to.

JRC is a weird one , was brought in to give us some Champ experience and versatility but I'm not even sure what his best position even is.

I thought we looked completely devoid of any confidence going forward, and very much a team who'd lost 4 on the spin. We need our injured starters back asap

These last few games have demonstrated that our defensive frailties are still there when we are missing key players. We really need to strengthen in January! I’m sure we won’t get relegated but it will be painful if we continue with Gillespie and no decent lwb cover. I wonder if it’s true about Fukada being on his way could Ramsey move to the left ?

There was a moment where Campbell had the ball and ended up cutting across the box looking to get a shot away. Was expecting to see Hernandez bust a gut trying to overlap before that happened but no, just stood there. Don't have confidence in him defensively or offensively. Can't see how he's ahead of Apter, who has at least showed some ability.

Edit, didn't realise @Leuth had already mentioned this!

And none of that changes the fact Hernandez is more comfortable playing on the left than JRC is

There was a moment where TC had it in a promising position and you need your LWB to be bombing to overlap and Onel was just waddling disinterestedly twenty yards behind and I hope we never see him again
Think I said to you that a few moments before when he slid in to put it out for a corner after Gillesphey got skinned by the no.49, he got up and clutched at his hammy briefly. Not great news but like surely at least when in that position as you say, you've GOT to make the effort. He just didn't. His legs have gone (again as you said)

I think Karoy can stake a real claim as a regular pick if he is given the chance to against Boro & Brum........ he still has learning to do but he already has a lot to offer.

    Awful set pieces
Why does Coventry hoof it into touch so often, when the simple pass is on
    TC lacking confidence to shoot

We were slow to start and who knows how the rest of the game may have gone.
