People who have garages but don’t use them to park their cars in.
Instead, park them inconsiderately in the roads, on pavements etc
’But my garage is too small for my car’………….buy a smaller car……..buy a house with a bigger garage etc etc etc3 -
Sorry can’t agree with this.KBslittlesis said:People who have garages but don’t use them to park their cars in.

’But my garage is too small for my car’………….buy a smaller car……..buy a house with a bigger garage etc etc etcVery few people have the luxury of a garage that is suitably sized for most (modern) cars these days.I think in practice very few people actually have the practical option to use a garage these days.3 -
I park on my drive as the garage is too small for my car.KBslittlesis said:People who have garages but don’t use them to park their cars in.

If I didn’t have a drive I would park on the road.
No idea why you should be telling anyone to buy a smaller car or move house with a bigger garage.1 -
Why have a garage if you’re not going to use it as a garage?
When I had a garage that fit two cars, we bought cars that fitted into it because parking was at a premium on the estate we bought on.
What makes you buy a house with a garage and then think, ‘I know, I’m just going to buy a car I want, don’t care that it doesn’t fit in the garage because I’m just going to dump it in the road’?
You’ll never make it make sense to me sorry.
Even more so now every time I fly home there’s more and more cars and less and less space.1 -
I think you are in a minority. I wouldn’t buy a house based on the garage.KBslittlesis said:Why have a garage if you’re not going to use it as a garage?

Even more so now every time I fly home there’s more and more cars and less and less space. It’s a relative rarity to get a garage at all and it’s either usable or it isn’t. It would be a bonus at best.If it’s a tight fit you aren’t going to give yourself grief everyday trying to park in it and risk damage / inconvenience to unload if you can park roadside without hassle.2 -
A lot of garages were built when cars were a lot smaller. Took this of my mate's Triumph a few years ago. In it's day, it was a fairly big saloon but look how tiny it looks next to a relatively small modern car.KBslittlesis said:Why have a garage if you’re not going to use it as a garage?

If I parked my car in the garage where would I put all the other shit?13

I wonder how many prospective buyers ask the owner if they can try parking their car in the garage?KBslittlesis said:Why have a garage if you’re not going to use it as a garage?

I doubt many as I’ve never heard it said.
I never did and am more thoughtful than most.
When we moved in the car was such a tight fit I could barely open the door to get out.
I tried once more but the worry of damage to the car meant it was a no brainer to park on the drive.
I suggest the majority of cars don’t fit the garage unless the house or garage is “relatively” new.
Everyone in my road parks on their driveway.2 -
Our house was built in 1996.
Comfortably fit two cars (a Citroen and a BMW) a triumph motorbike and a treadmill.
I get older houses are tight but they usually had a half decent drive, so no problem parking there.
When we took cars for a test drive we always asked to test the parking in the garage 🤷♀️0 -
Small garage, big car but bought a load of shelving units for all the crap and now use it for its real purpose - car storage.0

My wife and I have been looking for a new home, she picks what she likes, my only need is a garage I can fit my car in. Which is why we have not moved0

When we bought our house, I was more interested in the garage than anything else. I was away when my wife first viewed our house and she went with my parents. My Dad said that when she saw the garage (fairly big double with barn style doors) she turned to my Dad and said “I think when Russ sees this, we’ll be buying this house”!ross1 said:My wife and I have been looking for a new home, she picks what she likes, my only need is a garage I can fit my car in. Of the 5 houses I have bought over my lifetime, 4 of them had garages.
I have never even considered them as somewhere I would put a car.0 -
Been looking at a lot of houses over the past six months and never seen one with a garage big enough to fit a modern car.0

I remember house hunting, and asking this gorgeous blonde if I could park my car in her Garage
She looked a bit confused telling me that the property had no off road parking1 -

My house was built in 1928. The wife's Nissan micra is one of the smallest cars on the road but no chance it'll get in the garage. That and the step between the garage and the drive make it best used as a workshop for my woodwork hobby!0

Yeah but what do you use the garage for?cantersaddick said:My house was built in 1928. The wife's Nissan micra is one of the smallest cars on the road but no chance it'll get in the garage. That and the step between the garage and the drive make it best used as a workshop for my woodwork hobby!1 -

Overnight road closures / lane closures. There seems to be a minimum of three on my way home from any evening home or away game, invariably adding a minimum 30 mins to the journey.0

Companies like Equifax or Experian.
My credit score took a hit during covid so now I’m back settled I’m trying to rebuild my credit. Signed up to Equifax who are telling me I have no active credit cards which is negatively affecting my credit, so to build it back up I should think about getting one.
They have a ‘suggested’ credit card list based on my current score and 3 or 4 are 3/3 star on suitability and chance of getting. So I apply for a small limit just to use and pay off straight away.
Got rejected and now I have a hard search on my record which has brought my score down considerably! And the fuckers wanna charge people £14.99 a month to use. Luckily it was a free trial for me, but it all seems dodgy as fuck.0
