I was at most away games in the 88/89 and 89/90 seasons so I reckon I was.brownbear said:Anyone else at the 1988 game at Carrow Rd, where we beat a top-of-the-table Canaries team 3-1, with Magic Morts, Paul Williams, Carlo and Micky Bennet running riot?
Fantastic day out that was, may have even been our first win of that season?
Can only really remember Morts goal, which was his standard slalom run before rolling it into the corner....
I've certainly been to a few Carrow Road "away" trips down the years - been too long since the last one though.0 -
I see we are wearing the black away kit with it's green and yellow additions...should fit nicely with Norwich's kit!2

Sorry to read that Bell is furthest away from fitness with Edwards1
-
Yes that seems totally different to all the other supposed Intel.ross1 said:Sorry to read that Bell is furthest away from fitness with Edwards7 -
Gonna have a cheeky 50p on Carey to score any time vs. his former club4
-
I drove up to Norfolk yesterday.
The Thickthorn roadworks at the end of the A11 delayed me by 15 minutes. Two lanes into one.0 -
Where did you see that?ross1 said:Sorry to read that Bell is furthest away from fitness with Edwards0 -

The pressure is all on Norwich, not us.
We're on an upward curve and will win, scoring at least 3.0 -
Looking forward to another trip to Carrow Rd . Always a good atmosphere.I’m predicting a Desmond .2-2 ( Leaburn and Kelman )2

open and Carey is lost playing a deeper role .. look when Doc came on Saturday straight away Carey finally got forward with a great run which started the move for our goal2 -
Carey will only be the driving force if he playing in his attacking role not the role he plays to cover DocBriston_Addick said:Yay! A "home" game! It'll be a novelty, attending a 3pm kick off where I hint had to leave until about 1pm and could be back home by 6:15pm.
Norwich's home form may have picked up in recent weeks but they're still vulnerable defensively especially in the dying stages of matches, a period of the match when we've been incredibly strong under Rev Jones.
A draw would be a good result as a point away from home is never to be turned down but we've got a goals sequence to maintain. As with the Ipswich match the Ginger Genius will be the driving force, this time back on his home turf instead of at East Anglian rivals.
City 0 Charlton 2 (Kelman, Carey - who'll give it incredibly large to the natives)1 -
Boxing Day football? Not for me this year. This is the one fixture I’ll miss, thanks to East Anglian relatives descending on London like an away end with a drum. So instead of Carrow Road its off to Sadlers Wells East in Stratford for the panto. Phones on silent and no Greg, Tel and widow twankey Brownie on Charlton TV.
By the time the curtain falls around 6pm, I’m hoping Mother Goose has laid a golden egg, Cinderella’s feet fit the shoes, and Charlie boy has landed a proper Boxing Day punch for Charlton.
The good news? Relatives will be trundling back up the A12 on the 27th, leaving us free to sail south to HMS Victory in Portsmouth docking at the Ritz by Fratton Park (aka the Ibis), for an overnight stay. Fully expecting to try and silence the Pompey Chimes, lets hope we continue our good away record on the coast. Six points over the festive period would be lovely… but let’s not be greedy. One draw and a win would be a cracking Christmas return. Here's hoping.....COYA's.

It also says Reece Burke has been 'on the sidelines in recent weeks'.Scoham said:

He's been out for 8 weeks.1 -
I read this and thought to myself, surely Carey's best chances came when he was playing with Anderson, not Docherty. So I checked the official site match report and lo and behold:RonnieMoore said:

Sonny Carey almost had the opener for Charlton on the half-hour mark. Tanto Olaofe saw his shot saved by Cumming and Carey got hold of the rebound, but his effort flew over the crossbar.Charlton almost took the lead on the stroke of half-time, as Carey danced his way through the defence and fired the ball towards goal, but it flashed just wide of the post.4 -
It's almost like you're talking rubbish about an academy player again
Anyway....the match. I'm expecting the same starting lineup as Kelman likely needs some time to build up fitness. It will be tight in the first half, then I think our subs will win it for us in the second. We continue the sequence, 2-0 to the Addicks. Another Kelman goal and a header from Lloyd Jones. 5 -
My prediction is Norwich 0-1 Charlton (Jackson 86)6
-
Would be more than happy with 2 points from the next 2 games, but I don't fancy us at Norwich. They are improving and will be desperate for the points. 2-1.0
-
To be fair to Ronnie this time around, Carey played his best football for us early doors in the season when he was free to roam behind the striker, with Docherty and Coventry operating deeper behind him.crookester said:It's almost like you're talking rubbish about an academy player again

Everytime we've rested Doc and put in Knibbs, we dropped Carey deeper and he's been less effective.
Nowt to do with how he played with Karoy, but Carey plays well with Docherty for the most part3 -

A better team under their new manager, but Norwich still aren't a great side. They aren't a Sheffield United, who were a good side massively held back by their manager.
With 4 games in 10 days, I would expect some rotation in the next 4 games, and injured players to be eased back initially.3 -
Gonna go for a 1-2 tc winner0
-
Carey played the 10 from the start with Anderson and Coventry behind him. You must be thinking of another game in a galaxy far away.RonnieMoore said:

You are right that Carey playing deep with Knibbs in front does not work. But that is not how we played against Oxford. It was Carey at 10 with Coventry and Anderson behind, which did work.sam3110 said:

Don’t think I’ve ever seen such a confident forum as theirs. You’d think they were top of the league.3
