I think we can get a win.  They’ve improved, but this is exactly the sort of game we can pull a result off imo.  Expectation will be on them, home side, second from bottom and they will see this as ‘winnable’.  If we can set up like we did at Brum, hold the 0-0 and frustrate them until the 65th minute we’ve every chance.

I would start the same team as against Oxford.  If we get a result here it’s a massive step toward safety

Anyone else at the 1988 game at Carrow Rd, where we beat a top-of-the-table Canaries team 3-1, with Magic Morts, Paul Williams, Carlo and Micky Bennet running riot?

Fantastic day out that was, may have even been our first win of that season?

Can only really remember Morts goal, which was his standard slalom run before rolling it into the corner....
I was at most away games in the 88/89 and 89/90 seasons so I reckon I was.

I've certainly been to a few Carrow Road "away" trips down the years - been too long since the last one though.
I remember that,we were stuck up in the back corner of one of their old stands, saw Morts start the run but only knew it went in when the roar went up.

Surely should be able to win this - BUT we did only manage 1-0 against a pretty dreadful Oxford side. Will settle for 1-1 here.

Game is live on Sky, providing it does not go off again like the last live game 😀

Better off trying the ticket office…sorry 😉
  • Tricky match and probably playing Norwich at the wrong time. They score goals and results have improved no end. Assuming no Ramsay I am taking Norwich to sneak it 2-1.

Success probably depends on Gough emulating Ramsey's form. Actually, that's quite a big task.

You know Ramsay is out then?

No suggestion I can see that Ramsay is anywhere other than in the squad as expected...🤷‍♂️

Looking forward to going up to this, my brother and his family live up there and are Norwich mad, really need to win for bragging rights. Carey to score against the team that released him as a youngster. Kelman on the score sheet again. Trouble is I think they score too. 2-2.

I think their current position and Liam mannings form before he got the chop has given a lot on here far too much confidence. If we manage to get away with a draw I'd be happy. Hoping for another kelman goal atill thou!
  • I'd be happy with a draw. Their CB got November's Player of the month and while they have a few injuries, Sargent will score. If we can keep him quiet, we're in with a chance.

I was there. Insane result and performance. Can't remember if Norwich equalised or took the lead?

I’ll always take a point away from home but hope we can defend well and nick a goal from somewhere to steal all three tomorrow.

possibly - were we 1 down and turned it around? in fact yes, just typing that, i remember, i was there - they were taking the piss and we turned the tables on em
Great VoTV report summed up the game. Said we were Liverpool for the day and Morts was Barnes.

Last time I went to Norwich was Boxing Day 1985. We were at my sister’s in South Norwood for Christmas so Dad and I decided to escape for the day, not realising it was a 3+ hour drive each way! My sister still hasn’t forgiven us for it. We were “rewarded” with a 3-1 defeat. Here’s to better this time round!

Still better than being in South Norwood though

Been press-ganged into devoting my entire Boxing Day to attending this. We'd best not get gubbed

Or even Ray Crawford 0-1 win to us back in 1968 .

Was working on where to go for a drink with NCFC supporting mate pre match and realised that many of you may be wondering about parking

Personally, if I were driving (I won't be) id find some on street parking that is free due to boxing day....but.... for those coming from afar who dont know the lay of the land, there are suggestions in here re: paid car parks:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/NorwichCity/comments/1poxxb1/parking_on_boxing_day/

    Main ideas:

    County Hall - £8 (10 min walk)
    King Street - £6 (7 min walk)
Rose Lane Car Park (5 min walk)

Coach and Horses near the station seems to be away pub....but... lack of trains may spread people out a bit. Sounds like Waterfront on King Street has recently changed from Away to Home (but is crap for this anyway). There is a "pub" in the ground next to the Holiday Inn corner called Lion and Castle.

Not sure if I'm being helpful. Maybe others have more to add?

Don’t think of Norwich as relegation candidates so this is a very difficult game as they have improved especially at home … plus they have their best striker back today … like to think we could get a point but think narrow defeat .. 2-1

I always remember that one as one of my favourite away games. We didn’t just beat them, we did it in style.

We were in the upper tier along the side that day and I got a bad impression of Carrow Road. Sometime in another match in the last 20 years I got completely the opposite impression when we were in a lower tier with their home fans just to our right. I thought that was one of the best  home supports I’ve ever heard.
I think we’ve played them there on Boxing Day at least once before, haven’t we? I think I’ve been there 4 or 5 times and once was on Boxing Day.
