+++ Charlton complete Tanto Olaofe signing +++

All the one on ones he’s missed have been on his left foot. Would guess he’d have scored at least one of them if they’d been on his right foot

Exactly where I am on it. At least he made the keeper make a save, unlike Leaburn last week.

Carey didn’t on the follow up though, which if anything was an easier chance than Leaburn’s last week.

He should probably score but I think you’re being harsh. It’s a bouncing ball which isn’t clear from that screenshot. That definitely makes it harder, and the fact he’s running at full pelt on to it and it’s on his weak foot

What a daft thing to say.
Every striker has probably failed to beat the keeper (he didn't miss, as in put it wide) on at least one occasion.

It's amazing how many people appear to think every striker should score every chance.

If our strikers had a 100% success rate on chances to goals they would not be playing at Charlton … even Haaland don’t have 100% scoring rate ….. Oloafe played well last few games MOM at Birmingham .. always say only worry when striker not getting chances to miss ..

don’t need a 100% conversion rate but he’s got to get better at finishing we talk about TC’s lack of end product and rightly so but he’s not even had the quality of chances Tanto has had

Changing your opinion of a player you liked based on one performance is nuts. 

Dreadful scouting and a waste of money for me.  Can't help but think we bought him on the back of one good performance against us last season.
Like a lot of our players he is a willing trier and you can't fault his effort but he is a L1 player and no way good enough for the Championship

It's not one performance... he's been poor for ages, was terrible against Oxford... but today's showing really took the biscuit and is more the straw that broke the camel's back and made me realise that my previous enthusiasm for him was misguided / primarily based on hope, the fact he seems a good lad, and a few encouraging moments off the bench in the first handful of games... but actually he's been toilet for ages and I'm struggling to see him being able to improve much

hope he proves me wrong!

The problem isn’t our system Godden has proved that. Our issue is we’re focusing on developing young forwards into good footballers to try and turn them into million pound assets rather than trying to sign the finished article. Our system doesn’t benefit forwards as much as defenders so we need attackers that are the finished product and can adapt to different games rather than forcing them to be something they’re clearly not ready for TC has no end product, Leaburn can’t use his body effectively and lacks pace , Tanto has no composure or technical ability and Kelman has limited aerial and hold up play Godden you can’t pick a big weakness that’s the difference

I don’t agree with that, and Godden proved it only a division below. I believe some of our strikers have more to offer if there were able to see
the ball a bit more. Tanto included.
