  • Really not sure he is what we need now tbf hes been so poor since his first 6 or so games

But jones loves him and will see him as solid and maybe enough to keep around this season to stay up then get better next season i hope
The problem with that is his wages are way beyond a “solid” Championship defender.

Wasn't just his set pieces yesterday. He was half arsing challenges and misplacing passes too. Was the sort of performance we used to see from the aging mercenary loans we suffered in league one.

Weirdly for the first 20 mins or so I thought he was ok, he was aggressive in the tackle and popped up in a few central pockets with the ball. Then the set pieces kept going wrong and his confidence plummeted. Maybe with Bell back we can risk Apter on the right again.

Fleming told Cawley that Bree is still playing through a groin injury. Clearly was affecting him yesterday and so he shouldn’t have been taking set pieces

If he shouldn’t why do we keep persisting with it, had a groin injury at Wrexham coincidentally when has suddenly forgot how to cross the ball after being the best crosser we’ve seen in years at the club
  • Got to try Apter or Rankin-Costello in that position if he’s injured.

Crazy to keep playing a player whilst he can’t kick properly.

Why is he on set pieces then? Farcical
  • With the quick turnaround for games, Friday-Monday-Thursday-Sunday he absolutely needs to be rested.

If Jones starts him at Portsmouth then he's an idiot. A fully fit Apter is a far better option than a half fit Bree who can't cross a ball.

I would love to hear an explanation for that, because on the face of it, it's an incompetent decision. Even when it got to the 5th-6th corner, and all of them had been shocking, he was still taking them? And we even gave him the fecking free-kick.

I hope not personally, but Jones loves him so expect him to become permanent

A fully fit Bree is a massive asset. Playing him through injury is bad enough but letting him take set-pieces when he clearly isn't fit to is madness

And get more pace and attacking threats in the team to create space for him and take pressure off the defence. We won’t get anywhere if we stick with Bree and Bell or similar as WBs.

17th feels really random of a date but at least gives us a bit of time. Saints probably won't care about him playing against Chelsea anyway.

Get him gone, set pieces yet again were awful, and it's his only real strength. Bang average right backs are two a penny and definitely available cheaper than be will be

Fine defensively but he’s not got enough going forward as a wingback, the set piece fall off is a mystery unless Hylton is the worst set piece coach in history

Im baffled that he still starts every game and takes every set-piece, surely NJ can see this?

His corners are worse than Albie Morgan’s.

If it continues to happen after we sign a Left Wing-Back, then Apter has really pissed in Jones' cornflakes, maybe he tickled his feet in the night, or farted on his pillow seeing that Jones is sleeping at the training ground... But still think that Campbell having to play LWB, is "forcing" Jones to avoid playing Apter on the opposite flank

Some part of me questions if he keeps getting told to hit near post, floated one to the far post late on for Jones so clearly is capable of beating the 1st man and getting the ball in the air

Not sure what's happened to him tbh I mean he's kinda solid but has lost that delivery and impact in the final third,is looking like a decent back up player atm you could see everytime the ball is played out to him there is little danger he's not the type to take you on or create much and they just mark him out of it,an upgrade would be better for the team but I'd still sign him if it's not too much cost but if so oh well see ya later.

Seems to be struggling but some helmets booing him before he took corners today were embarrassing.

Almost as embarrassing as his actual corner taking

Jones commented that Bree had an issue with his groin after the Wrexham game back in November and he could not take set pieces.

Clearly that groin is still playing him up then

That maybe soo but surely you can't be trusted to play lots of minutes In games and be starting, you are either fit or not and if you can run surely it doesn't effect your ability to kick the ball more than a foot off the ground from corners if he can't do that he shouldn't be playing regardless,as being a defender entails  clearing the ball occasionally.

He's not fully fit in my opinion and if he has a groin injury he's playing through why the fuck is he trying to take set pieces on top. Hylton needs to have a think about that as set piece coach.

A question that needs to be answered by Jones. I don’t expect Terry Smith or Tom Rubashow to ask that (More than their jobs worth)

If Bree is still here after the Sheffield United home game then maybe it could be asked by a local journalist
