Carey not starting. So who is supposed to be the "creator" of chances from the midfield  ?

Also, he has almost got as many goals himself in the league as the whole starting 11 put together  5 v 7 I believe.
Not been playing well last few games though, although I hope he soon gets his mojo back and starts again

How bad does Bree have to be before he gets dropped? Anderson gone from starting 11 to completely left out (he is there as he was on the video) Gough dropped after a solid performance at Norwich, Gillesphey dropped after looking increasingly dodgy in recent weeks yet Bree keeps his place after a series of poor performances and an absolutely honking display at Norwich.

Big risk playing two defenders who won’t see the game out … especially if we are hanging on to a narrow lead ??

    Strange lineup
  • I'm reading that as Carey dropped, rather than squad rotation - that's fine, so be it. JRC & Berry will need to put on their performances of the season, not that they've had many minutes so far.

Burke, Bell, Bree I hope come through okay, but will they need to play within themselves to avoid injury.

A lot needs to go right tonight - Campbell, Leaburn & Kelman know what they need to do!

TC at wingback worries me, he is known to shirk a tackle

    Bold prediction ...

The ref to give us a penalty?! We had one some weeks ago (and Doch wasted it) so we're not due another until next season at the earliest.

My first time seeing somebody in a half-half football shirt and it's a very vocal guy in a Southampton/Palace shirt making his way to Fratton Park.

Something tells me he won't get inside.

Can you put a photo on here?
I didn't take one as, when I was behind him he was just singing Southampton songs. It wasn't until I passed him and he switched to Palace songs that I turned and clocked the shirt.

He's obviously seeking attention, but I don't see him getting very far if his intention is getting into the ground.
  • Midfield looks slow as hell, proper jeans and shoes vibe. Let's hope 'Unc Squad' bring it tonight.

Two pure defenders at wing back like at Norwich would worry me more. TC will add much needed pace and width to the team.

Our press, or hope Berry comes up with something. Maybe grind Pompey down, keep it 0-0, grab a goal from a set piece late on.

Three points but little actual football played to stop us being too positive. Something for everyone.

Or it goes wrong and we’re sucked closer to the bottom 3.
Did you see our set pieces on Boxing Day?
  • Macca takes the rap for defenders who either can't finish a game or can't play a few games in a row. For midfielders who can't track players, for goalscorers who can't score, for a loan player who can't take a free kick/corner, for a manager who is full of himself but can't pick a side that offers protection on the left. Many on this forum pick out Macca as the problem but fail to see others who fail to perform regularly until the Norwich game. NJ is fast approaching "running his course" and yes the transfer window may help him out but his instance on ex Luton players/his mates won't help.

Genuinely sounds like an “hilarious” prank looking for reactions by one of those twats who make their living being an influencer or something.

You'd think he'll not last the day without an incident.
  • PWR - Jones must be desperate if he’s giving a start to Rankin-Costello 😳

I’ll watch the game but am not expecting anything other than another boring performance - I’m not even sure our great record at Fratton Park will help us tonight

Ridiculous, we’re roughly where we expected with our budget.

I think you may have accidently posted a draft of your post-match rant early by mistake.

  • After our awful display at Norwich we haven’t exactly filled my usual ‘glass half full’ attitude with much optimism.
    We’ll do well to get a draw.🤞🤞🤞

Jones has not gone defensive, that has to be a positive.

Macca takes the rap for being too slow, and inviting the opposition on, and sometimes being a liability with his passing at the back

Harsh that Anderson doesn’t even make the squad. I can understand starting Berry - especially when we’ve all pointed out the lack of creativity in the midfield recently. Big opportunity for JRC.
Is Berry creative ? I don’t see it .  Incredibly harsh on Anderson not to make the squad .

I think you'll find most of what was stated is true before tonight's game, but at least you're not like some of the others and still blame Macca for all our troubles. Of course he was to blame for the goal against Norwich, the loss against Wrexham.

Let's hope that line up takes us and Pompey by surprise. No Ramsay is worrying and I fear he could be out for a bit longer than we first thought.
It will take Pompey by surprise, that's for sure.

In fact, it has taken everyone by surprise.

More creative than most of our squad. 7 goals and 5 assists last year
