You’re right though; although possible, it doesn’t sound true!Helen Viola Jackson(1919–2020) was the last known surviving widow of an American Civil War soldier, passing away on December 16, 2020, at age 101. At age 17, she married 93-year-old Union veteran James Bolin in 1936 to secure his pension and help him with chores.
