Just seen that Chelsea are playing Arsenal in the League Cup semi final next Wednesday. Their players probably have that game more on their minds than tonight.
As long as we score first we have a chance.4 -
Big game for Rosenior I think.
Lose and I believe Chelsea will sack him.

Thinking back to the Brighton EFL Cup game. Yes, they were rusty as it was their first game after the World Cup, but a team with the likes of Caicedo, Mitoma and Trossard, failed to beat a Charlton team, featuring Inniss, Lavelle, Ness and Chin in defence.6 -

I'm not familiar with Forests side, how strong a one did they play last night ?letthegoodtimesroll said:He will play the team the owners tell him to play and they will have seen the Wrexham game last night or had someone who will have been watching it. It was full on with no lulls or respite periods and totally committed tackling at times and went to extra time. They won’t want their players going through the same and risk losing players for the midweek semi-final against Arsenal or the CL games and Rosenior has already commented about Nathan’s style of football so he knows that will be our gameplan and more so. They might be on the bench but they will use them sparingly if they are desperate enough to need them. We just have to say ‘hello, welcome to the Valley’ straight from the off if any of them do come on the pitch.0 -
Ah, not sure if we've got that.fenaddick said:

Might have to go down more clandestine routes. 🤔0 -
Is Lloyd jones 100% going to get injured and do you have a crystal ball? I don’t think so.wmcf123 said:
Do we stay up without Lloyd Jones ? I don’t think so .Sword65pf said:Players aren’t going to get injured because they play an FA cup game, if they are going to get injured it will happen whenever. What happens if they don’t play and then get injured 5mins in on Saturday? Because that could just as easily happen. Get the boys out there and try and win.0 -

My Predictions are:
Chelsea win.
Fullah is Charlton's stand out player.
Fullah is bought by Chelsea with 3* million up front and many add ons, then loaned back to Charlton with the proviso he gets game time.
Difficult to predict the teams as these are the games all Charlton players would want to play in and does Nathan want to give his regulars the hump by not picking them to day 🤷🏻♂️
Rosenior has so many good players to chose from and most are young anyway but he would hate to be beaten in his first game in charge.
A comfortable 0-3 victory to the odious Chelsea and Charlton can concentrate on the League like most seasons when it's FA cup time.
* 3, 4, 5 million etc its just another young player on their conveyor belt.1 -
Whatever the score I don’t want so see Charlton surrender at any stage.
Go for it.
Indeed even if Chelsea score ten, if we win a throw in in their half, it will then undoubtedly be a moral victory for the mighty reds.0 -
Price of evens for Chelsea to be leading by half-time on William Hill. Have put a large sum on that to help our cause.0
-
Also, not sure if posted already but Chelsea U21s have a game v Palace U21s at 1pm today so whoever is left out there may give a clue as to who will get drafted in to our game for them, or not depending on various factors.

Hopefully we have some Chelsea u21 experts on here to confirm who's not in the team.swords_alive said:Also, not sure if posted already but Chelsea U21s have a game v Palace U21s at 1pm today so whoever is left out there may give a clue as to who will get drafted in to our game for them, or not depending on various factors.

You can feel it coming: Godden, 90th minute, pure emotion. A moment that seals the win and confirms us as the biggest club in London.1

I know that I risk sounding like a broken record but it IS a huge game now.BansteadAddick said:A few years back this would have been a huge game. Actually you probably need to go back to at least the early 90s. Now most Addicks, not all, would prioritise avoiding relegation back to L1 and Chelsea will field many kids. But a sell out crowd will be great and hopefully a reminder to the owners of the potential of this club. Could be a big game for Kelman to show his worth. No shocks, 2-0 to Chels.
Of course we are unlikely to win the FA Cup but with a favourable draw like for Millwall in 2004 we could even get to the final. It’s highly unlikely but a Championship team manages it on average every 10 years or so.
Besides all that, I just don’t see how prioritising survival has to be in direct competition to putting out a good team and big performance in this match. In fact if we just treated it like a Pizza Cup match we would get hammered which is detrimental to players’ belief in our system, and you’d have players pissed off for missing out on what could be the biggest match in their career.
What Chelsea do is irrelevant too. They can’t field a weak team because they don’t have a weak player.
Make no doubts about it. This is a massive game. Many people around Europe will be out in pubs and bars, or at home this Saturday evening, chatting with friends and family saying things like: ’hey, that’s Chelsea playing?' Who are they playing? Who are they? He looks a good player, who’s he? Etc
We are in the European football spotlight tonight, in much the same way as we would be if playing in The Champions League.

It's OK.CombeMartin said:So you want us to loose 0-6 on the box worldwide ?
We can win the 2nd and 3rd sets and go through to Round Four.
(And probably play Carlos Alcaraz away ...)3 -
Nathan jones knee slide after last minute winner sends us to the fourth round1

The Discovery + / TNT sports came free with my Sky sports subscription that I have with Sky (didn’t get it with Virgin)lancashire lad said:what is TN and how do I get it?0 -
Keep it tight first 30 mins, start fast and get into them and who knows
drawing at HT (if possible) and attack the CE 2nd half
Heart says 1-0 late Godden winner
Head says we concede in the first 10, kills the atmosphere and end up losing 3-0

NJ needs to show Chelsea some respect and put out the kids and fringe players….Fullah, Karoy, Gough, Lapa, Apter and a few others.

All I want is to not be thrashed by the pampered prima donnas, esp as the game is being shown all around the world. The club will, hopefully, make a nice sum of money which must be spent wisely on non-injury prone (or Luton) players who will improve the squad.
i don’t ask for much, do I? Come on you Addicks 💪🏼1 -
Wrap up warm tonight folks. Gonna be a cold one. Forecast -1 at 9pm.
Thermals and ski gloves with built in hand warmers coming out for me.3 -
Palace put out a very understrength side and look what happened, how embarrassing, the holders eliminated by a non league club
We need to put out our strongest possible tomorrow, because the fans deserve it, and if we do and if Chelsea don't fancy it, we can cause a morale boosting upset4
