  • 1-3 and I would have been happy (yes really). But the pen never was and I think they were pissed off with that on 92 mins and the 5th was just a piss take.

I don't think that second half does anything for the confidence of the players. Yes, we had a big crowd, the biggest GA Cup crowd in 50 years, and shown around the world, but with am embarrassing scoreline that only flatters Chelsea, we didn't gain much other than gate receipts shared!

    Celebrating Leaburn's goal was special.

If we don't sign better player's (not squad fillers) in January, I fear we haven't got enough to stay above 2 other teams.

Scoreline was harsh, but biggest concern is the injury to Bell. He was walking very gingerly to the tunnel.

Were we slagging Kier Starmer off at one point? Why??
    Because he's useless?

Im so pleased I don't have tnt sports. I never watched any of their ashes coverage but if it was anything like how they have done tonight's game it would of been as bad as our performance in that series.

And who the fuck is the Muppet in the hat pitch side?!
    Karen Carney or Joe Cole?

Think TC did well playing LB today.

Maybe he just can't handle the balance of moving up and down the pitch, because he was solid today when he wasn't so concerned with getting forward.

TC played pretty damn well at LWB.
I watched on tv, but it looked like he was getting rinsed every time (appreciate its chelsea)
Never. All the goals came from the other side of the pitch.
  • I have to say I really like the look of Gough, if we find a good LCB i would be very happy with him starting alongside Jones whilst we manage the CB injury situation.
  • Same keeper next week for me

Because he is not a real LWB.

Didn’t expect a result but other than the 5 minutes between our goal and their 3rd it was a disappointing night. Place was half full of day trippers so the atmosphere was pretty poor, game was dull, and important players injured. Hopefully the money we got is enough to sign a Bell replacement,

Very reminiscent of the Man U game three years ago when substitutes scored twice late on to flatter with the scoreline.

All played well and were up for the challenge.

I think they will have enjoyed the experience. No negative in the result as I see it.

Gough should be proud of himself particularly.

    PWR.

Don't know what to think after that. My emotions are all over the place. Angry, annoyed, pissed off and feeling sorry for the lads - didn't deserve that scoreline at the end.

Will need to cool down before I post sensibly but all I will say is this.....we certainly need a LWB by next Saturday.

Oh......and the club is a shambles. Toilet block in the AC stand had a floor full of piss. Cant use 2 of the cubicles or the far end urinal unless you want to be able deep in the stuff.

Utterly shambolic on & off the pitch.

Well theres me looking like a prat. Had tnt coverage but then after the game it switched to ESPN. This German poodle looking bloke was pitch side talking about Chelsea and of course, only Chelsea.

The gulf in quality was incredible. They had 16 shots of target. I expected us to lose but the ability of their reserves was ridiculous. They would win the championship at a canter.

Chelsea fans are an odd bunch.

I wouldn't have said the scoreline was harsh. Mannion had to make multiple saves and we barely had a shot.

Well done to Miles Leaburn. Did well on scraps.

Already see someone (a Charlton fan) on Twitter say that the “lack of bollocks shown was concerning”.

Don’t know if he was watching the same game tbh. That’s the last criticism I’d have of the performance.
Twitter / Social Media is just a cess pit of negativity...
Its an echo chamber of people who just want to complain about whatever they can

    Sounds like this place

I didn’t know refs could blow the full time whistle before the game restarts.

Would have been nice if the ref at Portsmouth knew that
Yeah, I always believed that you had to kick off again for a goal to count.

    Only lost 4-1 then.

Losing heavily to Chelsea isn't a big deal. It is what it is.

I'm more concerned that Bell and Campbell went straight into the tunnel. We have to sign someone for the left side this week.
Roussillon might actually have to earn his money!

    Exactly why I left it.
    And why I've never joined!

Was pretty happy with lots of that. Dug in.

TC against 50+ million pound wonder kids was never going to end well. We have to resolve that position before Sheffield United.

Leaburn was quality. Has come on leaps and bounds in just a few games. Really had those CBs worried at points
