I make that the first double of the season by the same score line. Largely inept performance in a match that was all about the result and not the performance!

    Most frustrating win ever.

That second half was really painful, knew it would be as soon as I saw Dykes for Kelman. Would have much rather Dykes for Leaburn, I get that they were going to be deep but we could’ve done with much more intricate play around the box rather than just relying on crosses from TC most of the game. F knows, maybe playing against 9 men isn’t as easy as it sounds, in fairness to them they held their shape very well. Really surprised Coventry didn’t come on either for Anderson, we could’ve done with some more composure. Our pitch also looks shit, guess that isn’t the worst thing in the world under Jones.

Anyway, a massive 3 points which I’ll now try to enjoy. Dykes showed some promise, well played to Kaminski and great to have Godden back! COYR.

Take the 3 points and move on to Tuesday. That is all.

Desperately needed the 3 point. I was so disappointed with our passing against 9, especially Carey ( and his decision making) and Anderson

After a run of 1 win in 13. A win no matter how it came is the important takeaway from this. Clarke looked good as did Dykes with an excellent assist. Rested a few for a busy week with a game Tuesday and Saturday. A few points to get away from the scrap at the bottom of the table, building a platform. With a couple more signings we can hopefully kick on from here.

TK POTM, if one of those early ones goes in we lose that. Godden back. Ramsay got through the 90. Burke back on the bench.

The negatives – Anderson can’t play that defensive role in midfield. He isn’t good enough positionally. His running can be an asset but he needs to be in the 8 or 10 role for that to work. Knibbs injury is a shame as he was looking one of our better players before that. We saw why Bree on the left hasn’t been tried before.

Sheff United were an odd team. Wouldn’t call them dirty but they were looking to draw fouls and control the ref and hope he gave them everything. When he didn’t and they weren’t able to make the most of their pressure they lost their heads and flew into tackles that they shouldn’t have. They can have no argument over either of the red cards. Hope the guy who injured Knibbs gets a 10 game ban, that was horrendous.

A wins a win and a shit performance is a shit performance

First time in my life a victory has felt someone deflating, happy with the win, but i do worry for our future, because we haven't got any creativity or attacking quality about us at all
This was exactly my thoughts too and I am as rose tinted as they come!

Clearly Jones marked this game as a free hit in his breakdown of 5 games or whatever measure they use after resting Coventry but Jesus. That win would probably have dented our confidence more than it would have lifted the team! We looked shit scared every time we got anywhere near their box. If we go down by a goal everybody will look back to this game more than the Southampton game.
  • A good win an awful performance. We need to seriously improve going forward to give it a proper chance

Didn't see the game but was the midfield off balance and who would you play Tuesday? Coventry back in?

I can imagine Nathan will keep swooping Kelman and Dykes, also allowing for Godden until fitness is achieved

Really didn't understand taking Kelman off. Great opportunity for him to keep scoring and would’ve got in behind better than 2 big men. Thought Dykes was decent though.

Ramsay, Anderson & Bree utter toilet

There are no words to describe how bad that was so I won’t bother trying to find them. Very glad of the 3 points because it’s tough to see many wins coming soon. Jones seemingly stormed off at the end and was fuming that fans were calling for more urgency so should be an interesting interview. Time to move on and never think of that game again.

  • Ugly first half. Not much else to say other than Kaminski did well. Having the 2 man advantage was needed second half and thankfully we took control. Although we didn’t tear them apart, we did enough. Not always easy to get clear cut chances when they sit back and defend their box. Very happy with the 3 points and having players coming in to strengthen. Hope Knibbs is ok, looked very bad on the tv. We must do better, but signs are ok that we have the squad in a bit of a better shape and hopefully we’ll find some fluency against Derby. A win is a win, and that is what we needed.

Wasn’t there so hard to comment but I will;)

Seems pretty dire that we couldn’t score more than one goal against nine men but no doubt as we’ll hear in the press conference it’s never easy to score against, 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1, men.

A win is a bloody win, enjoy it and move on people. The game certainly was not enjoyable, but it’s a MASSIVE 3 POINTS!!!!!

    Lovely old job!

Gives a nice little platform for Derby at home now, let’s forget Millwall away 🤣

Not sure what the thinking was but now we have the win it didnt harm us and Kelman is likely to need to start both the next 2 games in the next 7 days so coming off early will likely do wonders for his recovery and ability to get through both of those.

Might be the worst 1-0 win of all time but I will take that. Looking at other results that’s a huge 3 points

Kaminski motm (or maybe the ref)

I wonder if Jones expected them to park the bus, to frustrate us and get a goal on the break and felt it would be easier to lob balls into the box rather than attempting to fire through an organised crowd - To be fair, thank god he did make the change, as dont think Kelman was getting that assist
That early goal was so crucial

That was an absolute turgid performance apart from a 10min spell in 1st half that was dogshite…yep happy for 3pts ion board, but my god…why did we now go for the throat more, get the 2nd we would been able to cruise rather than make it nervy against the 9 men,we still sat back too deep & why on their corners did we have no one on the halfway line or between their 2 sitting between 18 & centre circle…that should  have been a lot easier but we let them come at us,side too side, misplaced 2-3hrs passes, just waiting for us to make a mistake that would have cost us,I’d be proud of our team if we had played like that with 9 on the pitch…oh n why the fuck bring off Leeburn talller than most with the last corner in last 2nd of game…anyways yep we win,but Nathan & the team seriously need to look at themselves & sort it out, because we won’t keep
    getting away with that…rant over,
    ❤️

Jones didnt even stay and clap the fans today. He is upset with the negativity, it looks like!
