Imagine saying that about a man who helped to save the club then won their first ever cup. They deserve to be liquidated.

Not forgetting he porked Susanna Reid, he needs to be given a bit of respect for that.

Not sure that would've happened if he wasn't minted and was a cab driver.
  • I remember everybody waiting for them to plummet when Zaha left. Seems like a lifetime ago.
They have a charmed life that lot
They don't, never been in relegation danger.
Nor were we until Curbs left

Correct, but we did not bring in a decent manager to replace him.
palice have done it time and time again.
And annoyingly they've acted quickly to correct the occasions when they didn't appoint a decent manager - replacing Holloway and De Boer with Pulis and Hodgson etc.

Only takes two bad managers in a row to really screw things up but they've managed to alternate the bad and good a bit unfortunately!
  • Their recruitment hit a lass be purple patch with Guehi, Wharton, Eze, Olise and Henderson etc.  I am hoping that with Freedman having left that is over, some of their recent recruitment has certainly been off.

The dramatic 24 hours that sealed Guehi and Glasner's futures.

Apart from being extremely knowledgeable on anything to do with football finance, Keiran Maguire is also a Brighton fan who dislikes Palace, so i thought this was quite amusing.

We all know that Steve Parish doesn't read his emails.
If he did, Palace would be in the Europa League and not the Conference.

On a brighter note - Don’t think Glasner will see out January at Palace.

He’s absolutely raging in his post match interview today.

No chance, they'd have to lose every game from now until the end of the season, and we all know they'll slip closer to the edge and then beat Man City and Liverppol away or something stupid.

They have just as much chance to get relegated as Tottenham:

    Or Brighton

Or as much chance of getting in to Europe (as both those teams):

Probably be another average 12th place finish though

The bottom 3 will go down, another boring season on the premiership relegation front. Will be great to have West Ham in the championship with that ridiculous ground, but I'm going off topic.

Would still prefer Palace (there we go back on topic)

They won't get relegated simply because they probably only need two wins from their final 16 matches given  the bottom three are so poor but, equally, I can't see them finishing 12th.

Playing in Europe with a squad that isn't fit for purpose fighting on so many fronts is always going to hurt a club in that position. To put that in perspective, Palace have already played 35 matches compared to Man Utd's 24 and Leicester, when they won the PL, played 43 in total.

Their manager doesn't want to be there and the players know that too. Their captain has left and their best forward wants out too. We just have to hope that the damage of this season becomes terminal next year.

They'll be nowhere near relegation but watching their season unravel so far has been very enjoyable. Would love them to have a wolves type season next year
  • Palace have rejected an initial bid for Mateta but interestingly have apparently said he can go if a certain price is met.

Ignoring the fact that Anderson and Guehi have left so defensively they are unlikely to be as strong, these are Palace's top scorers in the PL for the season before last (no other player scored more than two goals):

    Mateta - 16
    Eze - 11
    Olise - 10
    Edouard - 7
    Ayew - 4

Last season (no other player with more than three goals):

    Mateta - 14
    Eze -8
    Sarr - 8
    Munoz - 4

    This season (all scorers):

    Mateta - 8
    Sarr - 3
    Guehi - 2
    Nketiah - 2
    Munoz - 2
    Pino - 2
    Chilwell - 1
    Devenny - 1
    Mitchell - 1

The players in bold have either left or are likely to leave this window or during the summer. It's not rocket science to think that forwards that create and/or score goals are the hardest and the most expensive to source so, here's hoping they spend millions trying to do so and fail miserably.

They won the FA Cup and improved generally, shortly after losing Zaha and Olise. Parish is good at appointing managers, and good at making a change when necessary, and their player recruitment is excellent.

For them to get relegated, they need to combine a bad manager with a mediocre squad, and that needs to happen in a season when the other relegation candidates are competitive rather than cannon fodder.

The only consolation I take from their current issues is that they had a genuine chance after last season to push on and sit in that position between the big clubs and being the "best of the rest". Instead, through a strange lack of ambition, they should remain as a "10th to 15th" club, making up the numbers.

Their player recruitment was excellent but that was when Freedman was there. He left 10 months ago though.

West Ham will have to win 5 games this season for palice to begin to get worried.
However, as you say, hopefully a bad end to this season and departures can make next season very interesting.

Scott Parker's Burnley to pip Palace to 4th bottom on the final day of the season.

Parker rip off his dodgy designer jacket and shirt to reveal a "Charlton 'til I die" T-shirt underneath. Everyone forgives him for the Chelsea move, and he is welcomed back as a hero.

In the words of Martin Luther King, 'I have a dream' seeing an incredible end to the season with Palace, Spurs and West Ham relegated.

More derby games for us if we can only stay up.

Now where are my sensible tablets?
