    Anderson again?

    Hmm...
A weird variation of the Godden song?

The one thing I will say to Karoy starting (trying to be an optimist) is that he's not really been involved too much this season so maybe a run of games might help him find some form? Just trying to find some sense in the madness

Maybe gonna need our finishers to get us back into the game.
Perhaps we can put our other strikers on without taking the starters off, will they notice 😃

Baffled by the midfield. Coventry must be carrying a knock, it's the only explanation. He helps us keep possession and breaks up play. He will be a huge miss. I see this game only going one way unfortunately.

What the hell is that midfield?

We need leadership and we need calmness on the ball.

We need Doc for leadership and we need Coventry for calmness on the ball.

The only positive I can find is that we have an actual LB on the pitch for the first time in god knows how long.

Emakhu on the bench for them is also surprising. Thought he was by far their best player in the reverse fixture and tore Ramsay apart.

I cannot understand the thinking behind starting two players that have been so consistently poor, we're surrendering even quicker than we usually do against them

Yeah that team... Well, actually follows suit for Jones atm lucky dip.

TC back up top instead of our one actual goal scoring striker, nice.

    And Anderson over Coventry...

Well,. preview thread was nice at least.

He’s obviously picking Anderson for his work rate and mobility, I’m not convinced by him at all, but I can see why he is picked. NJ has decided to keep it tight again and then bring on the game changers, hopefully we are still in the game at that stage.

Campbell up the pitch for an out ball and running at them with pace is good. That midfield terrifies me though, the treatment of Coventry over the last few weeks has been bizarre

Very surprised that neither Coventry or Doherty are playing.

If Coventry is fit, a bizarre decision to leave him out. If he has a knock, then Doc is surely a better bet as the 6 than the inexperienced Anderson, who get's caught out positionally.

Also having 3 centre forwards on the bench seems 1 too many. We don't need Miles, Godden and Kelman there, Tanto in place of one of them would give a better balanced bench.
  • What has Coventry done?

Players Player last season and the lynchpin of our midfield for the past few seasons.

If he’s injured then Jones needs to explain that to stop himself from looking like a clown by playing a really poor Anderson in his place.
  • I genuinely believe this is Jones giving Coventry a break, with a view to those glut of crucial fixtures in February. There is no way Coventry doesn't make our best midfield, and Jones knows that.

I don’t rate Doc at all, but this should be the perfect game for him.

If we aren’t starting him here, what value does he have in this squad?

Just so confused looking at that first 11.

Ah bollocks! I forgot it was proper coverage today. Have I missed anything interesting so far?

So Anderson is playing in Coventry's position again? That was the kiss of death last time. He needs to be further up the pitch

He struggled against 9 men last week in the same position and yet Jones thinks that good enough to try again at The Den 😭

That midfield is either suicidal or brilliant time will tell lol I suspect the former. However if we are still in the game after 60/70 minutes that’s one hell of a bench ! Unfortunately I think we will be 2/3 down by then

As he's not in the 20, I assume you're right.

Which is not great management by Jones in my opinion.

Particularly when he is sending out young Karoy in his place in the madhouse today. He always comes across as a lovely lad but he should be miles off starting today.

With Coventry not starting, what is NJ thinking with that midfield?

Wait ...... Could this be a back four
    4-5-1 .....?  :)

If that being the case then you play Coventry today.  Give him a rest for another game.
