I would have started Doc today or at least have him on the bench for his leadership. Starting Anderson instead of Coventry is mental.
  • Leaving the club captain out in a game like this, jones has lost the plot
Depends what is going on behind the scenes

Without context, we're all acting like it was Jones completely in the wrong though?

Is Darren Ambrose just not being very coherent, or does he not realise that Harvey Knibbs is going to be out for a while?

This is my worry. Jones has worked wonders for us and does have some real qualities, but I think he’s becoming a bit erratic. The falling out with players, if true, is very concerning. He cracked up at Southampton, so we know he’s got form. If the players lose faith in him we’ve got a big problem.

So it's, sit in our own half, play it to TC, hold it by the corner flag doubled up on, pass it back to chambers, lump it towards Dykes in the box (if he's managed to get up the pitch in time)

I understand the TC as an outball but if he's always going to be the game plan then we better start building the team around him I guess to get the best out of/ support him.

Tbf Jones has had a track record of falling out with players wherever he goes.

If they're not injured, they're falling out with Jones.

    Recipe for complete disaster this.

Heard Jones and Coventry had an argument in Little Chef.

    Usual lack of research/preparation.

Still can’t get my head around that midfield.

Coventry and Doc in this game. It’s so obvious
  • Bizarre starting lineup once again. Huge pressure on Chambers.

Pointless having him on Sky as the Charlton connection as he’s clearly done no prep or research

In full blown CL mode, Jones has now fallen out with 8 players and lost the dressing room again.

    We’ve been here before

I genuinely believe this is Jones giving Coventry a break, with a view to those glut of crucial fixtures in February. There is no way Coventry doesn't make our best midfield, and Jones knows that.
He is a young footballer - 25 years old in the prime of his life. Got a rest in the last game. Not saying he isn’t carrying a knock or something but don’t buy he just needs a rest at all

Chambers probably has the least pressure, we dont know what to expect from him, its probably the worst game for him to have his debut for us - This one performance, however good or bad, shouldn't define his time here with us.

    Wankers
  • Hope I am proved wrong but do not understand how Costello gets in before Coventry . Apart from 2 games I really am not sure about Costello - he was awful against Sheffield United and most other games where he has come on as sub . As I say - Hopefully I am proved wrong .

So Docherty is there... He arrived with the Charlton team, as he was just shown as the team arrived at the dressing room on CharltonTV
If he's had a true falling out with Jones, and has been told to find a new club, I'd expect him to be frozen out a bit more

Didn’t you read the Chelsea thread ?

Loads on here saying we had to rest many of the ‘first’ team to save their precious bodies 🤔😉😆

PS I do agree with you. I think it’s a tactical choice.
