Means he is either staying there or coming back here now

I imagine we'll move on to a new target for between now and the summer, and potentially try and pick him up on a free if we stay up.
Think Clarke is the new option and we don't see another RWB coming in.

Yeah I meant a new target as in we have more pressing matters in different positions now, and 15k a week on Bree when we have Clarke and Ramsay is frivolous

I get the value in Championship experience, but I still hope we can find better if we stay up.
  • Played better for saints because he was allowed to get forward more and didnt look panicked like he did for us.

Thought he looked decent yesterday from what i saw, i think from that showing,Southampton will keep him until the summer.

Probably because the system we tend to play comes from the fact that we have one Wing-Back who goes forward, the other slots in to make a back four when we're in attack - When we have Edwards available, its usually the Right Wing-Back who goes forward, see Small from last season for example.
With Edwards out, he's being covered by Campbell, and you cant exactly have TC as the one who stays back.

    Was he on corners?

The Saints fans I know were pretty pleased with him. He hasn't been well thought of there but that has mostly been due to his association with Nathan Jones who a lot of them have a disproportionate amount of hate for. I think if Bree gets a decent run for them until the end of the season they'll warm to him. He works hard and he's not a player who should normally generate too much vitriol. I'd still like him back, he's a good player and as good as Clarke has been so far we're one injury to him away from scrambling again

Please don't let him take the corners or free kicks ...I would prefer to play Apter
Erm, did you have a plan 'C' in mind?

More importantly why was he on his groin?

  • Has just scored a header to put Southampton 2-1 up over Leicester in the FA Cup
  • Scored again today! He seems to bury the chances that Harry Clarke gets overexcited about and fluffs.

Lets not get carried away with Bree's scoring exploits this season, he's got six goals but the most he's ever achieved in a season is two.

“He will always be on our radar until he is too old to sign, because he has always done well for me.” James Bree cropped up again during my questions for Nathan Jones during yesterday's press conference. #cafc

Let's be honest, Bree was never the problem for us. It was the injuries elsewhere. I do have a feeling though that Clarke will bag a few goals before the season is out. He's a lot more tenacious and quicker than Bree...

It'll be interesting where we go at the end of the season.

I think plan A will be both. Plan B will be just Bree, plan C will be just Clarke. Two relatively cheap championship proven wingbacks that have worked in a Jones system just seems to sensible to ignore

Wouldn't the nost he's ever achieved in a season be six?
