5 at the back with doc and Coady in midfield and 2 giants up front, I wonder what the tactics are going to be 🤔

    Negatives:
We froze for 15 minutes in the second half, allowing them to run at us time and time again. Need to stop doing that.
I think we should have doubled up on Mavididi and Fatawu more than we did.
Overall though, very happy with that, in particular the spirit on display. Coady, Clarke and Dykes seem to be up for it.

Love that after 1 win we are digging our fans rather than just enjoying the win. Great 3 points but still a very long way to go.

Lloyd Jones' ongoing injury issue is a worry but he is such a warrior. He's probably going to make things worse for himself long term and if he can't play at 100%, it could cost us goals. He had a poor clearence towards the end of the match (which seemed to be injury related) that should have been punished but his commitment to the cause is outstanding
LJs commitment to the cause is outstanding.
Having Coady now though may take the pressure off of Jones having to continue when obviously playing with minor injuries.

Much, much better performance. Pretty? Absolutely not.

It’s clear what we’re going to be for the rest of the season, but if it keeps us up, there won’t be a single complaint from me.

Brilliant 3 points. Some great performances from our boys. Chambers, Clarke, Lloyd and Coady to name a few.

Without taking credit away from us I can't believe how bad Leicester were. They've got some very dangerous players in Fatawu and Mavididi but you can see how they've not kept a clean for a long time. UTA.

When Leicester get their points deduction expected to be 10 points that puts them 3rd from bottom on 28 points .. 7 points from us

They still had dangerous players on the pitch we saw their quality at the valley yes we were forced back but we defended excellently.. Kaminski only had one save to make .. but the last 10 was pretty calm lot of that was down to Coventry keeping it simple keeping procession ..

Superb away win with two really well worked goals. Can't remember the last time we've had quality wide players on both sides, and it makes such a massive difference.

Lucky they missed the penalty as it could have gotten a bit nervy with a single goal lead.

Simply, we had a proper defence for the first time in months. Our problems have been very straightforward. Three good centre backs and two proper wingbacks fixed it. Now also clear that our midfield is a huge problem with none of them capable of making a decent forward pass, partly why we were on the back foot for a lot of the second half
Four more wins will keep us up
At one point towards the end of the game Docherty picked up the ball just outside our penalty area & strode into acres of space. He kept going and going and going and then gave it away which lead to another Leicester attack. He had time to play it out wide but just didn't know what to do with it.
To be fair, he was concentrating on whether the player behind was going to track back and just lost sight of the ball.

It was unfortunate, but I think today showed we’re a better team with his off the ball work. Although he does have a tendency to drop to deep into the penalty area leaving the edge of the box free.

A very welcome result but it's still worrying how fragile we look when teams step up the tempo and really put us under pressure, especially when they do it with 10 men.

I agree with Ronnie here. They may have had ten men, but they were always going to come out and give it a go.

Football games ebb and flow like that up and down the country each week. We essentially limited them to nothing (apart from the penalty which I think was soft), and then Jones changed squeezed the game for us.

I actually forgot we had a goal disallowed! Absolute travesty that that happened and the ref's very lucky it didn't cost us. I'm still mystified about why it was ruled out

By a brilliant corner from CAREY.
Kitchen will be grilled after that clanger.
I need to see the 'goal' again as I was so looking for where the foul was committed I didn't notice Clarke's touch and thought it went straight in from the corner !

Before that two of his passes went straight to their players and led to two attacks. Coventry was the same. They are good at hustling/tackling but hopeless on the front foot.

That was like a Curbs "back to basics " performance, as I expected when I saw the lineup.

The aim had to be a clean sheet with that team and we did it. I don't think we're going to see much flowing football between now and the end of the season, it'll be more like when Jones first took over when we were struggling in League One. Survival is the goal and that was a great three points towards that goal.

‘Kin buzzing on the train back. Traveled up to Leicester expecting the worst…how wrong was I. A team performance. Leaburn was immense in the first half. The Foxes can have no complaints about the red card. Also we really took the game to them. They were chasing their tails. The penalty looked soft but Kami saved for the second time in a row. Got to say that the support was an off the scale and a privilege to be part off. Big smile on my face and travelling with a lot of happy people

Kaminski did the same as at Millwall, made a decent save but barely pushed it away.
Unlike last week he got away with it.

    Clarke played very well.

Chambers was excellent and a beautiful assist.
2 excellent performances from him, even though most people thought otherwise last week.

Ramsay, Jones, Bell and Coady were excellent.

Docherty was an improvement on Anderson, but gave the ball away (but not as often).

Carey, Leaburn, Dykes and Coventry played well.

Godden looked lively and TC and Fevrier were ok.

A well deserved win, although Leicester lost it as much as we won it (who cares).

His overall game was decent. I grant that wasnt good but cheer up, we won!
  • Ronnie Moore - I think you will find that the Leicester points deduction will be a maximum of 6.

What a difference the new signings made .. crosses from the new wing backs led to  both goals, Dykes opened his 'account' .. Coady looked cosy in an unexpected midfield role and, some old stagers: good to see Docherty back and Matty Godden looking fit and ready to roll after injury

Fortunate we were against 10 men as Leicester were good in the 2nd half
All in all we were excellent, if we can keep this up (won't be easy) relegation fright will jut be a bad memory

M O M .. Guess who ? .. Lloyd Jones .. outstanding as ever and looked to be over his injury worry
