  • Further to my piece earlier this morning about "Colins",  iv'e found the said picture with the offending text below it, and its on pages 171 and 173 and the offensive bits are we are called a "Comic London Club" and "Spotters Athletic" not Anoraks Athletic.  Apologies for my fading memory .

I still say its a wind up !

Apart from the fact that it's been widely reported in both the Kenyan and Serbian press with quotes from the player himself and NJ didn't deny it when asked directly by Richard Cawley. I don't think anyone was falling for that shit AI Millwall windup on its own
  • More players out on loans today…I wonder if Anderson is set up to go out but only if we get someone in ?
We can’t be light in midfield !

Not with our injury curse, hows Leaburn’s shoulder?

Wouldn't be surprised if Berry is allowed to leave, but that probably only happens if we sign a midfielder ourselves.
I would, don't think NJ would cope without his "emotional support player" 😂

I don't see much point loaning out Anderson, Gough or Fullah. They're all U21s, so won't count towards squad registration. Better off ditching someone like Macca, Berry etc.

it’s giving them game time though isn’t it. Not just about squad numbers
  • Fullah I don’t think is worth loaning out. Kid’s going right to the very top. He’s a good back up for now in that CAM position.

I like Doc but he panics on the ball and that makes it hard for us to transition from defence to attack. Anderson is the same, plenty of bite and endeavour but really poor distribution. We would benefit massively from a midfielder who can track mercilessly in midfield but then start off attacks when he receives the ball, give a passing option to the defence and then move the ball on effectively. But then who wouldn't, that kind of midfielder is on every single EFL team's wishlist and they're hard to find, it will almost certainly have to be a Premier League loan and we'll need him to be strong enough to compete. Another Conor Gallagher level discovery needed
I think finding that player is probably one for the summer rather than something possible today. Today we should be able to get someone that is better than Docherty and Anderson on the ball but they probably still won’t be amazing with it
I'll take it. As long as a midfielder coming in can snap and harry in the middle any amount of improvement on the ball is good. Someone to help the wingbacks move up the pitch in a controlled manner and bring Carey into the game more through the centre would make such a difference. As much as Doc works as well he's not the quickest on the transition from attack to defence and does get run past a lot. But now we're talking about a fast, intelligent, hard-working box to box dynamo and I don't think we have the £10m you need to get one of those ready-made. It's realistically got to be a loan who can do some of it who Jones can hopefully teach to be as violent as possible

Technically very good but physically he’s not there yet. Get him playing senior footy week in week out he’ll be double the player for next season

It's not for squad numbers/balance issues, it would be for their development and experience.

    Ideal scenario for me:

    New CB & CM in.

Gillesphey and Berry out. Would loan out Anderson and actually keep Fullah, feel he can drive us up the pitch better.

Can see both sides. I’d rather we kept Fullah as we’re still short of creativity, but if the right club comes for him then I can see the appeal.

Gough should have a season long loan next year and build himself up to be ready for the year after.

Glad it’s finishing at 7. Though as we found out with Fofana in the summer, that means nothing when it comes to an early night’s sleep!
  • Sichenje can also play CDM/CM apparently

Also true, yes. Interestingly enough, Lee Bowyer, on the manager's podcast, said recently, he feels the loss of true reserve team football, where younger players have to play with and against experienced pros, has killed early development of young footballers. Players now are 21 and nowhere ready for first team football.

I'd still rather get rid of Macca and Berry and give Anderson, Fullah and Gough more gametime.

Hope we aren't going square pegs in round holes and still have a couple of natural CMs lined up and Coady/Sichenje are cover if needed.

We're going with seven defenders against QPR.

Our current midfield options: Docherty, Coventry, Rankin-Costello, Carey, Coady, Anderson, Berry, Fullah. Knibbs injured.

That may seem like enough on paper, but we are an injury or two away from being stretched. And is there real quality in that depth? Since the Coventry game Rankin-Costello has failed to impress (me at least). Berry's recent run in the team didn't set the world alight, Anderson and Fullah have roles to play but both are young and likely to make mistakes. A solid debut for Coady, but he hasn't played the position for ten years. I would still want to recruit.

Letting Anderson and/or Fullah go would be a risk, unless we get at least one in. It may be better for their development but based on NJ's over Christmas he may be a bit wary of leaving ourselves short by loaning too many out. I don't know if we have the depth to facilitate those moves.

Similarly I can't see Gillesphey going as we just cannot be sure Bell lasts the rest of the season. I would love us to add a left footed defender today.

Championship strugglers Leicester City are in talks to sign midfielder Divine Mukasa from Premier League side Manchester City on loan for the remainder of the season.

    - I wonder if we could hijack this one.

Does it slam shut at 7 or 11pm?
7 but we can submit a deal sheet to get a few extra hours to do the paperwork
If I’m not mistaken, Chris Parkes (despite his fantastic knowledge of the system and all things re transfers), once fell foul of this loop hole, much to his dismay it must be said.
I think it was a technical problem that prevented the deal going through in time.

In turn they're apparently interested in a winger from Bristol Rovers so they clearly expect Cleary to go. We won't get Cleary or Keillor-Dunn though, they'll have interest higher up the division

DKD was at Wrexham before so that makes sense. Cleary will go somewhere that plays out and out wingers , maybe Bristol City to replace Mehmeti?

Yeh we're not matching whatever Wrexham can offer.
