Another recurring favourite has just appeared on the official website.

This is the promotion-winning team from 1986 taken at the home game with Wimbledon.
Famously the picture appears in Rob Lee's autobiography.
Eternal respect and admiration to those who can name all seventeen (yes, seventeen).0 -

Other than the mascot, who did I miss out (apart from calling Nicky Johns. Micky)!
Edit, I think Jimmy Loveridge was part of the squad but not in that photo0 -

Don't agonise over it @DaveMehmet.
We were looking for the mascot.

That game v's Wimbledon made me chuckle. I was driving back to Stockport in the very early hours because I had gone to see a mate after the match, and the motorway was deserted with the exception of one other car that appeared from nowhere and lit up like a Xmas tree when it got behind me.
My heart sank as I looked down and saw I was doing 140mph, 6 months ban incoming and a huge fine was all I could think of.
The copper asked how fast was I travelling, I told him and he said it was actually 138mph.
He then gave me a lecture saying it was a good job I hadn't lied about my speed, I had pulled over correctly and safely, the motorway was empty etc, etc as well as asking where I had been and where I was going.
He then said he was letting me off with a warning but explained every police patrol will be watching out for you between here and Stockport, he then smiled, winked and said you have to look after fellow supporters!5 -

Naming all of them a piece of P, and I can tell you where we bought them all from as well..
Show me a picture of today's squad and I'd struggle with most (and I've been to nearly every game this year).1 -

Charlton fan or not, I would never have got away with it now, it was another world 40 years ago.
It was a capri, either the 3.0L JPS or 2.8 injection, cannot remember which as it was around then I swapped one for the other.2 -

I used to have a framed Tom Morris picture with this picture on and all the names. Long gone now but I recall the mascot name was a Rudd. I’m thinking Ian, but if not I’ll give up!Dave Rudd said:SporadicAddick said:
