My mate's book

Hi All,

Not sure if this is allowed, so mods please delete if not — but I wanted to give a quick shout-out to my mate BD Spargo, a lifelong Charlton fan, who’s his first book Cut Short, now available as an audiobook.
We went to school together at Crownwoods, and he took me to my very first Charlton match at Upton Park vs Southend United. We’ve been going to Charlton together ever since, so it’s great to see him get this out there.
If anyone fancies giving it a listen, here’s the link: https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/B0GM2NSV3Y

Reads a bit John Grisham/Lee Child ish.
I like those type of books, but haven’t ever done an audio one.

The question is, does Doyle grip like a Grisham?

Just listening to the second book now on Audible.

Decent enough and I’ll carry on with the series.

If Brownie is involved, it really does need to be Cut Short

    Thanks @SuedeAdidas I’m glad you’re enjoying them.

I still have some codes from audible for free copies of the first book. If anyone likes gritty crime fiction audiobooks, then message me here and I’ll send you a code and instructions how to redeem them. I think I have about 6 left that I can give out.

I’ve recommended Witch Hunt to my brother in law too.
He’s from Pendle and likes anything with a local connection.

The books remind me of Andrew Raymond’s DCI Lomond series which I also really like.

Is book 3 in the can yet?

Thanks, I hope your brother in law enjoys it!

Book three is written, but still quite a bit of editing to do. I’m hoping it will be out this year, but if not it will be by the end of January. I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks, I'm glad that tickled you. Many years ago me and my wife used to commute into work together, and we would often see the same people everyday on our drive and we'd give some of them nicknames. There was the guy we would often spot in New Eltham who had these big glasses and a bit of a syrupy hairstyle so we called him Eltham John.
