I'm trying not to pay too much attention to other teams results.
50 points is the target and it's in our hands to achieve it.

Point wouldn’t be the worse result in the world on Tuesday. Keeps them at arms length ahead of 2 tough away games for them

    Honestly think Blackburn are screwed.
Don't see them picking up a single point in their next 9 games.
    👇
You jinxed Spurs losing midweek and now you’ve screwed up Blackburn. Do you reckon you could just keep quiet with your predictions of a few weeks?
Can you give me a Golfie ban for 2 weeks?

Not as jinxed as every team I seem to pick for the prediction league!

So, as someone said earlier, it is looking increasingly likely that sheff Weds can be officially relegated when they play Sheff Utd next week.
At this point they're probably hoping results go in such a way as they're already down before the game kicks off

I still feel that both Leicester & WBA will get out if it. Leicester especially have more than decent players that can turn games & score goals. And are only in the bottom 3 due to having 6 points deducted - not because they are rubbish. (Yes, their recent firm is poor but as I said, they have players that can change games).

Why do you think I stay away from predicting Charlton results?
And betting on your own team is not acceptable.

Leicester have got a couple of ok players, but as a team they are lacking, and regarding the 6 points, they should think themselves fortunate it was only 6...I agree they might scrape out of trouble, just, but have more of a chance of relegation than us imo

Ruptured his quad I think so a big injury

Edit: different player who tore his quad, Aji Alese

It’s not scoring goals that has been there problem though. The reason they are down where they are is because they've conceded the 2nd most amount of goals in the league, and have the least amount of clean sheets.

If they don’t sort out there defence, I think they could be in big trouble.

    Leicester's next 5 games are not easy - Stoke (a) Middlesbrough (a) Norwich (h) Ipswich (a) Bristol City (h).

Lose all them and it will be "interesting " for them.

Golfie’s footballing philosophy is that having the worst defence in the league isn’t an issue if you can score a few. I guess we’ll see how the rest of the season pans out

Blackburn benefitted from Michael O'Neill: New head coach for the interim until he leads Northern Ireland in the summer bounce !

*Pretends to be shocked*. I think Reece Burke has played almost twice the number of games over the past few years as Alese

Played 4 mins last week off the bench after signing on loan this window, cracking bit of business

Well if they sort out their defence they will score enough goals to win enough games. They don't necessarily have to keep a clean sheet either. Unfortunately I can't say the same for us. We struggle to score goals & part of the reason why is that we don't have the creativity that Leicester do.

Not saying they are better than us or will finish higher than us......but I don't think they are as bad as some are making out.

Yeah Alese getting injured is absolutely no surprise.

If Sheffield United hadn't sacked Wilder in the summer they'd probably be in the play off spots.

Got a feeling they might still make it.

"If their defence was better they'd be okay" just doesn't cut it when their defence has never BEEN okay (this season). They absolutely are very bad indeed, they were in trouble even before the points deducted.

They may have quality players but I have no doubt that we have a better team in the intangible sense of squad cohesion and effort and belief. There was nothing about them that suggests they can scrap/fluke out a few lucky results and turn that into a new run of form, which we could, and have.

We'd then likely need 11 wins from 14 games to make 6th.

Im ever the optimist with CAFC and... it aint over till its over... but... real extreme long shot...

    Not 0% possibility, mind

The nature of the Championship, is that while teams and players can be brilliant one game, they'll also have off days. So in most fixtures, anyone can beat anyone.

At The Valley Steve Cook and Jimmy Dunne were excellent for QPR, Cook being dominant in the air. Today versus Blackburn, QPR let in 3, with the 5'6 Japanese player Morishita scoring with a header while Cook and Dunne watched on.
  • Crazy to think that had we beaten Leicester at home as we should have done and held on to beat Millwall at home, we would be playing Pompey thinking that if we win we would be right in the play off race.

I'd still take staying up by goal difference if offered now, although scraping into the play offs and beating Millwall in the final for the first time in 30 years would eclipse every other Charlton moment for me probably! 🤣

We have the equal fewest defeats in the bottom half of the table with QPR.

    FT QPR 1-3 Blackburn
What a shit team QPR are
QPR can be really variable. Looking really good for a few games then really poor for the next few. It must drive their supporters crazy.

I guess the point is that 'if' they can somehow sort the defence out then they will have enough going forward to win a few games. But as you rightly say their defence has been a mess all season. There's a reason they've conceded more than any team apart from Sheff Weds.

Quite a lot of Leicester fans on twitter seem to think they're already doomed. Can't keep a clean sheet, no fight in the side and a tough run of games coming up.

That said, if they can suddenly get 1-2 wins, the mood changes pretty quickly (as we saw with us after Millwall).
