I’ll think you might find that Harry Gregory and Peter Shaw weren’t paid that much more than the average wage. The big difference is criticism v abuse and TC -even still - gets far too much of the latter.1

I’ve heard criticism, not abuse towards him whilst at games, it needs to be clear they are two different things.Weegie Addick said:I’ll think you might find that Harry Gregory and Peter Shaw weren’t paid that much more than the average wage. The big difference is criticism v abuse and TC -even still - gets far too much of the latter.0 -
Of course but just because you haven’t heard it doesn’t mean it doesn’t existSword65pf said:

Not saying it doesn’t, but also not to the extent some would have you believe, before you jump on it, one person abusing is too many, but he gets plenty of support which is also overlooked to amplify the narrative.fenaddick said:

“not to the extent some would have you believe” - can you clarify that please? So what is acceptable?0

I think I explained that in my post, could you read it properly?, I said one is too many I believe, before trying to back someone into a corner.Weegie Addick said:“not to the extent some would have you believe” - can you clarify that please? So what is acceptable?0 -
Yes I read it. Which is why I don’t understand your comment re “not to the extent some would have you believe”.Sword65pf said:

I think that’s great, if I heard that I’d also say something if it’s abusive, if it’s criticism then people are allowed that opinion. But I’m also not going to come on here and say I’ve heard something I haven’t.👍Covered End said:

I’d message you @Sword65pf to inform you about the abuse I’ve heard as I don’t wish to repeat it here but your profile is private so I can’t.0

Well unfortunately I’m not going to sit and explain myself to you. Read into it however you want.Weegie Addick said:

You say not to the extent some would have you believe but also that one is too many. I think you’ve made your position pretty clear. Anyway it’s Saturday night and I have better things to do than read / respond to your contradictory posts.0

You’ve picked one sentence to make judgement😂,Would you rather I said something abusive towards him to back up your perceived opinion of me so you can continue your posts of outrage?. If my position was clear it wouldn’t be contradictory would it.Weegie Addick said:You say not to the extent some would have you believe but also that one is too many. I've heard plenty of abuse of TC. There's also much more racism in our fans than people want to think. One of the main reasons I stopped attending for a while and no longer sit in the North Lower was vile racist abuse targeted at DJ and Leko a few seasons back. Can imagine the same group of people abusing TC in the way they repeatedly did to those two back then.6

Why is it more acceptable to put abusive quotes in my inbox?I’ve not once said I don’t believe what people have heard and I’m fully aware of the context in what is being said, nor do I find it acceptable. I’m not sure what you are wanting me to say.As I said I’m not explaining myself any more than that.Weegie Addick said:I’d message you @Sword65pf to inform you about the abuse I’ve heard as I don’t wish to repeat it here but your profile is private so I can’t.0 -
I think the issue you’ve accidentally stumbled into here is that this comment is that someone was saying they’ve heard TC being abused and you’ve responded by saying you’ve not heard abuse. I’m sure that’s true and you haven’t but the (obviously unintended) consequence is it sounds like you’re denying that there is abuseSword65pf said:

Yeah.... you've made me finally post about some racist bs I ran into and got aggro for challenging at Peterborough away last year...cantersaddick said:I've heard plenty of abuse of TC. I’ve never said it doesn’t happen, that’s people deciding to see it that way and put words in my post, and why would I when you here various amounts of abuse at every game, in which I invariably end up explaining to my 11yr old son why things are said, with respect I don’t need to be told right from wrong and am fully aware of what is said/sung at a football match after 50yrs of attending.fenaddick said:

Better as a super sub which isn't what everyone was saying all along anyway?0

The argument at the start of the season was that the team was better with him starting, even though he looked better individually as an impact player. I think the results we had backed that up, with him and Kelman pressing from the frontSELR_addicks said:Better as a super sub which isn't what everyone was saying all along anyway?
Now that we have Dykes, Godden fit, Leaburn improving, I think TC as an impact sub is probably best, but I don’t think it was wrong at all to start him earlier in the season and it was working well.0 -

Well people shouldn't undermine young players as far as I'm concerened. Not sure that shows a great understanding of football when they do. Unless they believe confidence plays no part in the game at all.CharltonManor1966 said:
So anyone who disagrees with you as respects TC just doen't understand football then Mutters? Great argument mate!MuttleyCAFC said:I don't think modern day players can be lazy. All their runs and distances travelled are monitored. That information is available to the manager so if a player doesn't put it in relative to is position, the manager would know and not pick him. What happens is players can struggle to get into a game often due to opponents preventing that. But TC in his last two games is a great example. Forget people slagging him off, we are going to have a lot of fans who don't understand football and we should just ignore them.
Against QPR he was brought on as a wing back. The idea was that QPR would sit back for the draw and he woud effectively play as a winger. We also took off some of the bite in our midfield in the search for a goal. QPR to their credit went on the front foot which pushed TC back. They hadn't been on the front foot all game but it is a positive in that before the changes we prevented them doing so as their game plan was clearly not to sit back. Against Stoke TC was brought on as a forward player which turned out to be very effective. He didn't have defensive duties and that worked for us.
So the ignorants blame the player but in reality it is all about what the player is being asked to do. Of course players have good and bad games, when you are a player like TC you can come up against a player that suits you or one that doesn't. You can carry a knock that us fans are not aware off. But if you need/want to beat players and inject a bit of pace into the side, he offers something we don't have a lot of. He is a key player for us and an excellent prospect. I think bringing him on against a tiring opponent helps him so that is how I would play him out of preference. We also can start slowly quite often easing into the game so I think it helps his game when we are on the front foot.
He is not a wing back but has been asked to do a job there. It is never going to be a masterclass job but a get you through job. It is ridiculous to criticise him for this. And I think it will benefit his game in the long run playing out of position but some need to cut him some slack.5 -
He should be starting every game.1
-
Terrified their right back and stopped him being an attacking threat, looked lost when switched over to the right. Another example of how important it is to play him in the right positionThe Red Robin said:He should be starting every game.2 -
Flashes hit and cold but is still our only player that I have confidence in beating a man 1 on 1.
Carey looks worse when TC isn’t there to draw defensive attention.3 -
The Red Robin said:He should be starting every game.Probably would have helped his confidence. given his winner on WednesdayDifficult as Leaburn has been playing really well for over a month, as has Dykes, whereas Campbell has blown hot and cold0
