I still feel that both Leicester & WBA will get out if it. Leicester especially have more than decent players that can turn games & score goals. And are only in the bottom 3 due to having 6 points deducted - not because they are rubbish. (Yes, their recent firm is poor but as I said, they have players that can change games).

It’s not scoring goals that has been there problem though. The reason they are down where they are is because they've conceded the 2nd most amount of goals in the league, and have the least amount of clean sheets.

If they don’t sort out there defence, I think they could be in big trouble.
Golfie’s footballing philosophy is that having the worst defence in the league isn’t an issue if you can score a few. I guess we’ll see how the rest of the season pans out
Well if they sort out their defence they will score enough goals to win enough games. They don't necessarily have to keep a clean sheet either. Unfortunately I can't say the same for us. We struggle to score goals & part of the reason why is that we don't have the creativity that Leicester do.

Not saying they are better than us or will finish higher than us......but I don't think they are as bad as some are making out.
"If their defence was better they'd be okay" just doesn't cut it when their defence has never BEEN okay (this season). They absolutely are very bad indeed, they were in trouble even before the points deducted.

They may have quality players but I have no doubt that we have a better team in the intangible sense of squad cohesion and effort and belief. There was nothing about them that suggests they can scrap/fluke out a few lucky results and turn that into a new run of form, which we could, and have.
I guess the point is that 'if' they can somehow sort the defence out then they will have enough going forward to win a few games. But as you rightly say their defence has been a mess all season. There's a reason they've conceded more than any team apart from Sheff Weds.

Quite a lot of Leicester fans on twitter seem to think they're already doomed. Can't keep a clean sheet, no fight in the side and a tough run of games coming up.

That said, if they can suddenly get 1-2 wins, the mood changes pretty quickly (as we saw with us after Millwall).

I think they'll always be in games with the attacking quality they have but they're defensively a mess and they just don't seem up for the fight down there. Go behind and it feels like they're beaten.

They'll probably get something out of the Stoke game purely because of Stokes injuries but then have Boro, Norwich , Ipswich and Bristol City before the Jekyll and Hyde of the division in QPR.

Still have Wednesday and Pompey to play before potentially a winner stays up final day shootout at Blackburn.

Unless they suddenly find a backbone, Leicester are down.
They have 7 home games and 7 away games remaining. Considering they have lost their last 3 home games to Southampton, us and Oxford I don't think that the toxic atmosphere at the King Power is going to help them. The average league position of the teams that they are still to play at home is 10th. The average position of the 3 teams that they have just lost to at home is 17th and would probably have been lower at the time of playing.
The average league position of their away opposition is better at 13.5 but is improved by their final 3 away games, when the opposition are currently sat at 24th, 21st and 19th, respectively. I think those games might be too late for them.
Their remaining games include 4 of the top 6; 5 of the top 7; 6 of the top 9. I don't think that they will be relishing these games.

Oxford are playing Stoke, West Brom and Blackburn as part of their next 5 games.

Leicester still need to find a manager. Under caretaker Andy King they've lost 4 in a row, 3 in the league.

The right appointment could turn things around, as they still have some talent. Imagine Neil Warnock with those players.

Still far too early to say. A couple of wins changes everything.

Their next few games are tough (3 of the next 4 are away) but it might actually help them not playing in front of 30k anxious home fans getting on the players backs.

I didn't say they are down, I said that they need to quickly find a backbone to have a chance of staying up.

Leicester will appoint Rowett and stay up. Then be boring to watch next season and will sack him by January. Someone else will then appoint Rowett to keep them up.

Oxford will go down after sacking Rowett and will not bounce back next season.

Supposedly on a deal until the end of the season, suits all parties

Must win game for Coventry tonight vs Boro, to get their season back on track. Another defeat, and the pack will really fancy their chances of catching them.

    Also on ITV4.

Need Coventry to win if only to put a bit of distance between 2nd & Millwall.

Even more route one than our goal versus Stoke!

That is how to play route one. The perfect example. All that passing from    Middlesborough gets them no where, Coventry and the long ball  gets two goals so far.

Good game to watch. A positive advert for Championship football.

Also, Millwall now 5 points of automatic promotion 👍

Can’t see us catching either of those two. Two great teams and a great advert for the championship. This is what we have to aspire to if we want to get out of this league without going through the lottery of the play offs. And to think there were people on this forum (well one person in particular 😉) who said the championship hadn’t really improved much over the years.

Feels like he made the right decision not to push for a PL move. He's solidified his reputation and will be in the PL next season anyway
