Southampton could have beat us by double figures in the home match, so any less than that will be a bonus!

    Who’s playing right centre-back and who’s playing right wing-back?

Kaminski lucky to start and Clarke unlucky not to.

Collins at RCB, Ramsay at RWB I'd assume

I feel like Jones saw Ramsay getting forward on Tuesday and took the wrong lesson from it. Ramsay is capable of getting forward but he needs someone to play off, so Fevrier was there on Tuesday and he's decent at bouncing it off the RWB to create a platform to put the ball in from deep. Out at RWB he is generally isolated and doesn't create anything there. I imagine Jones is a bit scarred by Scienza murdering Apter last time so he's put a proper defender there and then Collins for afters but it neuters us a bit on the right. Saints are apparently weak down the left with Manning there as well so could be a missed opportunity. Feels like a Do Not Lose lineup more than anything else but let's see how it goes.

Happy with that side, as far as we don't know too much about Sichenje, but Clarke's performance against Pompey has given Nathan Jones good reason to give him his debut. Chambers needs to add defensive nous to his game and letting a defender, run thirty yards and then hit one from the same distance can't happen again. Up front, Campbell in is much needed if for no more than it upsets 'Ronnie' , seriously we need a performance from him.

Correct that’s what it says on the OS.

Seems like Clarke is the latest to be punished by Jones for a single mistake....

Well, you cannot blame Jones for dropping Clarke. Shame Berry is still making the bench though.
Difficult to believe that Fullah could not contribute more than Berry as a substitute.

TC starting absolutely the right call. Said on the preview this morning we will need his pace I we are to counter attack effectively. Just the threat of his pace should make them keep a man or 2 deeper and so takes the pressure off ever so slightly.

Clarke getting an entirely avoidable yellow was the start of our troubles. Deserves to be dropped just for that

I think this is a very specific tactical decision

So we lose one game, and now according to X...the "midfield doesn't work", the same midfield that beat Leicester and Stoke? FFS

I also don't see how this is any more defensive than our previous 4 games, it's one defender replacing another defender and a striker/winger for a striker up front???
Welcome to my world when I'm banging my head against the wall
To be fair. We haven't played through midfield all season. We've doubled down on that since January basically using the 2 deeper midfielders as defensive shields and Carey as a runner off the striker. All our build up play comes from width or long balls to a target man. It's not untrue to say our midfield isn't really working on the ball. It might be doing a job off the ball and we are set up to deflect away from its weaknesses. Sometime that game plan works sometimes it doesn't.

Canters are you referring to the the miss, the unnecessary booking or the fact that Ali run him inside out.

Would absolutely bite your hand off for a 0-0 and no injuries right now.

Agree but at least we could bring JRC on in that 10 role. The tactic of hoping a ball will fall to Berry works so rarely I’d rather see JRC who is less likely to score, but far more likely to create a chance.

It maybe that Jones feels that having not played for a long while that his performance on Tuesday was down to exhaustion so needs a bit of a rest.  Or he's just being vindictive
  • So Kaminski keeps his place.

A brave call by NJ because if Kaminski effs another one up .....

Scienza vs Sichenje is going to be absolute cinema I can feel it.

If we go 1-0 down early its going to be a long day

One bad game gets him dropped, very harsh. Kaminski it appears can do no wrong.

Hmm... How different will Sichenje and Scienza sound?
Don’t worry, one of them won’t be on the pitch too long.😂
