The clowns are clueless, they should not have a bad word said about him after winning the cup last season.

I mean Croydon is the putrid cess pit that is the dumping ground for all the vile stinking shite that has no place in London and is ejected through the puckered sphincter of Bromley.

It is a shame the local council was unsuccessful in their application to become a separate town in 2012 as that would have avoided confusion on behalf of anyone otherwise unaware of which town was the worst in the UK.

So I make Glasner right, good man.

We have our issues with our board, we have our issues with our manager. We win 1-0 we don't do this.

"Oliver Glasner’s future as Crystal Palace manager is in considerable doubt after supporters called for him to be sacked during their 1-1 draw with HSk Zriniski Mostar.

Palace supporters, who travelled over 1000 miles, hurled abuse at Glasner throughout the second half as they were held in the first leg of their Conference League play-off tie on Thursday."

This bloke takes them to their first ever trophy and gets them on a European run all whilst he has the rug pulled out from under him as his best players are sold.

What a weird bunch they really are.

I hope he stays.  The bloke has switched off and isn't interested.  He wants out and if he stays may yet still take them down (unlikely I know).  They have been pont for weeks and only an utterly inept Brighton display keeps them from very seriously looking over their shoulders.
And despite all this they are still above Spurs!

How many years in the PL have they managed now ?(Too many)

And they treat their board and manager like that?

LOL! They really are completely and utterly bonkers!

I fully agree that after winning the cup last year it looks a bit of cheek for their fans to criticise anything but if you look at it a bit deeper then they:

Have sold almost every star player
Haven't really reinvested the money made in selling those star players
Have pretty poor recruitment since Freedman left
Have a manager that openly doesn't want to be there
Were knocked out of the FA cup by a 6th tier side
Are struggling in Europe against minnows with a tiny fraction of their budget

Insane, the best board in their existence, the majority are fans as well. They are a second tier club punching well above their weight. Incredible lack of self-awareness and they'll probably still push the 'Charlton fans thought Curbishley took them as far as he could' matra with us being another second tier club who were punching above their weight but never won any silver wear during that time.

All fair points but the simple fact is in today's football world they were never going to be able to hang on to the likes of Olise, Eze and Guehi - even if they could have matched the wages they are getting elsewhere, the lure of playing for Arsenal, Bayern or Man City is infinitely higher than playing for a lower to mid ranking PL team in a rundown stadium in a s**t part of London and these players would have wanted to go. Same as Scott Parker for us.

And haven't they spent quite a few bob buying players recently? Larsen £48m, Johnson £35m, Pino £26m come to mind. That's not pocket money.

Yes, their results haven't been great of late but they are now comfortable mid table and I suspect will get to the final stages of the European Conference league. Frankly, looking at the teams left in that they could well win it.

I think we'd settle for the above, wouldn't we?

They still won some silver ware. They will be in the top league again next season, mainly because of how useless other teams are in the bottom half of the league.

They are still very much in Europe and they will scrape through to the final of that. Yeah it's bit tin pot of a competition but a jaunt across Europe with Charlton would be brilliant so they should be enjoying it and they still have a good chance of winning it.

They still have enough cash to spunk here and there breaking their transfer record twice recently.

They are punching above their weight but so are many teams in that league. Likes of Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford. I see palace as the top of those teams and they have become over the last few years as an established premier League team.
If you look at them on paper, their poxy ground and embarrassing support and club 'identity' you would never believe what they have achieved these last few years.

Hopefully this is just a blip and they spiral down to where a wanky little club like them should belong but until then their fans need to keep shtum and enjoy their success.

That's the phrase I disliked when we were in the Premier League, it's an omen to things going very wrong.

The comment on them reinvesting the money was more on their overall spend. Net spend this season of about -40m, and last year they made a profit on transfers. In today's Premier league that is asking for trouble and will eventually catch up with you.

Also i'd put the signings of Johnson and Strand Larsen under my 3rd point of 'pretty poor recruitment'. Johnson has been there a month and has already lost his place in the side.

Of course yes we'd settle for that, we're sat 17th in the Championship.

On shit players. Refer to "pretty poor recruitment since Freedman left".

I don't know a single football fan who thinks either of those signings were good deals for Palace.

Agreed, two very average players at a cost of £80m. Plus they've known Guehi was going since last summer (and beyond) - not their fault he wanted to go, entirely their fault they didn't use the time available between the summer and January transfer windows to get a replacement lined up. The side they've got now looks very uninspiring to me.

They had a genuine opportunity to establish themselves at the top of the "best of the rest" below the rich, established big clubs. Instead, they've done everything possible to make sure last season was a one-hit wonder.

Heartbreaking! Sadly I think the 3 coming up will be fairly weak, so we'll probably have to tolerate them being in the Prem for a touch longer. Spurs or West Ham coming down would be a decent consolation though.

When my work collegue say to me 'I remember Charlton fans wanted more form Curbishley' I think this what Charlton fans at the time wanted tbf. It is just the system, not the club at the time, screwed us over (explained below).

*Difference being the stated players stayed on for their Cup (and Shield) win. Parker left mid-way through a campaign, and what makes that season worse is we didn't get any European spots, but the Spanners ended up fluking one.

**- we got Jerome Thomas, Chris Perry and Chris Powell back hardly the Scott Parker replacement (though Chris Powell is worth more to us given hindsight)
