Poor first half, but West Brom looked toothless before the goal. With Lloyd Jones on the pitch, we wouldn't have conceded that. The worry is that the same might happen from another set piece.

Our wing backs have contributed nothing going forward, with them nullified we've looked very poor in attack.

Jones has got that first half 10000% wrong. To let them score whilst not laying a glove on them is criminal. They are absolutely awful.
I think you mean the players have got that half 10000% wrong. I doubt Jones has told them not to test the defence, not to score and to make sure they concede off the back of a dodgy reffing decision.
At this point I'm not sure he didn't say that given this lineup did the same thing against Pompey
  • Leaburn and dykes up top doesn’t work. How many times does jones have to see this? It feels like he just doesn’t feel like he can drop either of them so plays them both when they’re basically the same role.

Really angry now. We stupidly set up the same way as Portsmouth and surprise surprise its going the same way. Now we have to chase the game having wasted 45 minutes doing nothing.

Have we had over 50% possession in a game in 2026?

The fact that some of the more overly positive posters have called out how bad that half was says it all
  • He's got to gamble in this game now. We were outrageously passive in that half. Need to get attacking midfielders and tc on and just go for it.

Only positive so far is that the teams below us are aren't winning!

Anyone watching at HT? Jones was out with his ankle strapped talking to our subs pointing over to our left side. He was not walking well

No intensity. What's annoying is that even Bell resorts to lumping it when Dykes and Leaburn play together. Should have been one of the other starting with TC or Kelman, with the other one coming on as a sub. Coady in the last few games has played like how I thought he would do before he pleasantly surprised me. Haven't got our wing backs forward at all so far.

What’s worse? That we’re 1-0 down to the worst team in the division? Or that they fully deserve the lead.
Neither team deserve anything. if you didnt know any different you'd think it was 2 sunday teams still pissed up from a Sat night on the town.

I understand why we might not have wanted to attack Southampton as they could cause us problems but WBA have not won in 8 games & only scored once in their last 5.

If we dont get at least a point & Leicester win then things at the bottom are going to look very tight again

Poor performance so, West Brom have been marginally better. Dog shit marking for the goal.
  • Performances matter, some lucky results have meant that people have overlooked that we are a truly shocking side. Playing like this will result in one outcome.

This is why I said tonight was a MUST WIN the performances will not bring in the points we need so we need to beat the teams around us

Wrexham will batter us Saturday, as will Brum the week after.

THIS was the game to attack, but we put out a shit defensive line up, with no attempt to actually play football and we have emboldened them.

WBA are actually playing football - we are not.

We are helping all the teams below us and NJ now needs to change the set up this second half.

Absolute joke of a so called performance.

Think I’d bring on JRC for Carey. Someone who can put their foot on the ball and get their head up to build some possession from midfield.
We need a goal. Carey is about the only player in this team that has a goal in him.

Who lost him? Clarke, Bell or Ramsay?

Perhaps we can pray they get sendings off - 8 might be enough.

Worrying thing is outside of bringing TC on I don't know what we do to change our fortunes in this formation

Remember the days when we used to actually pretend to be a footballing side that wanted the football rather than this anti-football monstrosity.

Poor on balance. We're inviting them onto us but we have nothing in the press and nothing on the counter. Once again, we can't play through the lines and we don't have runners to play into the channels so it's route one hoof and hope once again.

After that half and Pompey first half I think we can say that Leaburn and Dykes don't work together from the start.

Get TC on to push them back and drive at them. We must be better. Tonight is a must not lose. Brownie just said we have to start playing through midfield more and for as much as he loves lump it into the channels football, he's right. We won't stay up just going long to Leaburn and Dykes up front together. We have to look to play. We did a bit against Soton after they scored and look what happened.

We just desperately have to be better.

Nothing wrong with the ref. Nothing to do with losing Jones, Collins looked like our best footballer when he came on. Everything to do with the terrible lineup and tactics
Nothing wrong with losing our best player and nothing wrong with a ref ignoring every foul on a red shirt but blowing for every tackle on a stripy shirt.

The players started brightly then slowly began to ease off. Do you think Jones is telling them not to attack?
  • Absolutely criminal starting Leaburn and Dykes after the Pompy disaster. Only thing worse would be not changing it at HT.

Even Browny saying I don't know what they've worked on all week. Its piss poor and has been most weeks tbh.

Well that was pretty crap. Zero attacking intent against a very poor side and punished for it.

We must get the ball, and players forward quicker. Clarke and Chambers are so, so, quiet. Clarke struggling to contain the winger too. We must support Carey when he breaks.

The homer ref isnt helping. Several pushes before the goal without a whistle. Yet if Leaburn gets an eye gouged out its ok and play on!

TC will come on, and probably Coventry, but few other attacking improvements.

    Still winnable.

    COYA!

We got two wing backs that can deliver a good ball to two big CF; how many times have we worked the ball wide to get in a cross? Zero.

we just lump it and sit back 🤣

It’s fucking suicide football against a team 7 points below us.

Not surprising when 80 % of our attempted passes are 60 yards or longer.
