His effort is dragging the side along at the moment. Without him we’d be in a lot more worrying position. His contributions are all proving important ones, not just ones in losing games.

Sky’s commentator kept saying Dykes was a loan signing from Birmingham. If that’s true then we can’t play him against Birmingham on 7th March. But hasn’t he terminated his Birm contract and signed a 6 month deal here?

Commentator also made a remark about Tracey Leaburn feeding some of the squad when away from their normal home, which isn't true any more, unless Miles is having sleepovers with his mates in the squad...

Needs to be in our squad next year. Loved how he gently eased their defender to the ground after the whistle had gone. Like throwing a bag of coal through a cellar door. Class
  • Has been class. Really shows value in getting proper Championship experience into the team, and his success should heavily inform our transfer strategy in the summer.

Has slightly shown up our other strikers, as soon as he came on the pitch against Sheffield United his all round game looked at another level to our other options. It shows the difference in level from L1 to the Championship.

He started that game. Did you mean his first appearance against Sheff Utd?

Seems I was wrong to not like him

  • Wasn't keen on us signing him but dread to think where we'd be without him. Looks a class above.

Same, I text a mate basically bemoaning us signing him - had been rubbish whenever I'd seen him.

Very glad he's proving me wrong so far!

Had my doubts , thought he was just a limited big man up front type from what I'd seen over the years but he's so much more than that. Really intelligent player and I'd get that contract extension agreed before he goes to the World Cup.

"In the end, a good point," Dykes told BBC Radio London.

"I think the game itself was a bit scrappy, especially first half. We didn't show our full capability, but at the end of the day, we take the point.

"It was a good, better performance second-half and we threatened a bit more and looked a bit more like ourselves, so we have to take the point and then we move on.

On his goal: "It was a great ball from Kano [Kayne Ramsay], great movement. Just wanted to hit it low and was really happy to see it hit the back of the net because we needed it as a team.

"I think it lifted us a little bit and obviously for myself. I'm really enjoying it here and I'm feeling good, especially in front of goal."

We’ve scored 8 goals in our last 9 games and Dykes has been involved in 5 of them. 2 of the 3 he weren’t involved in were outside of the box. Shows how pivotal he is to the system we play. Think he’s quality and can understand why Scotland utilise him, real nuisance and never gives up pressing.

Feel he needs someone alongside him like Kelman but that didn’t go too well against QPR

TC looked pretty lively with him when we got the ball up the pitch in the first half against both Millwall and Dykes. At the moment we’re seeing TC get a few minutes at striker and then moved to the wing where he’s becoming ineffective because he can’t cause confusion between the CB and FB

I wasn't overly excited when we signed him but my word what a signing he has been. Work rate, effort and quality all top notch.

Yep I’ll have a slice of that humble pie too. Had only seen him in cameos for Scotland and thought he had donkey tendencies. I’ve corrected that view - clearly a thoroughbred. Shows composure to match the work rate.

Dykes and a fit Godden last season would have been UNREAL.

He will probably get some good championship offers in the summer. What other teams probably won’t offer him though is a starting spot and playing the majority of minutes on offer. Hopefully he values that and we can keep him

I'll join the numbers being happily proven wrong

I've watched Lyndon Dykes play for a few years back to his QPR and early Scotland days and he was always good for causing chaos in penalty boxes and giving entre halves hard games but I thought he was a bit of a lump and not a lot else. He is a class act I have to say and impressed me in every game he has featured. So strong in defence too

Has also handily picked up Gillespheys knack of getting important goals when it counts
  • Get that contract extension offer sorted and signed as a matter of urgency, the guy has proved himself undroppable since he came in...👌

Considering we’re one of the few teams who plays to his strengths I don’t think there will be loads of clubs jumping to get him. It was only really us and Leicester who were interested in him when he was available on the cheap in January. Whether we can guarantee him starting XI mins next season remains to be seen. Wouldn’t be shocked to see Mbick given a chance

He has been very good and his goals/assists could be the difference between us staying up or not.

But he is at peak motivation right now, pushing for a World Cup place, and will be 31 in October. He is very much a NJ/Hylton player, so I would imagine they will look to extend by a year.
