Great signing - how will he fit in, i wonder ?

Well done Big Diddy,  first on here to call it right
    👏 👏
  • Never been a big fan of this guy. Agree re: Hemed.

However, if it means we’re going to continue playing 2 strikers ie Leaburn / dykes with Kelman/Godden and not reverting back to the failing TC up front situation, I’m at least happy with that and try and protect Leaburn a bit at points, who could easily get injured again. Pray not!
I think Dykes has got 2 goals so far for us?

Hemed scored zero goals, Dykes is currently ahead 200% on Hemed, last time in the championship.

Really happy for him but how he’s making it in over Mcburnie I’m not quite sure

Don’t think McBurnie has been in a squad since 2021. There were a couple of occasions, according to Wiki, in 2020 where he pulled out of a squad and then played in a Club game. Doubt Steve Clarke was impressed.

Don't think anyone could ever question Dykes' commitment to the cause.

You only need to hear him speak to see the guy is as Scottish as tartan and haggis :)

Had his first properly bad performance for us yesterday. Not sure if he was too isolated, tired after a long run of games or what but he had no shots, didn’t get on the end of any set pieces, only won one free kick and completed a third of his passes. Not really a criticism as the rest of the team were poor too but I think it does show that if he’s not in the game for whatever reason we struggle

Good, well deserved - his effort has been outstanding and as a target man, he has a ,lot more quality and know how than i appreciated before he joined - i don't agree that he had a bad game yesterday, i think he was one of our best players yesterday, up against a good side he won more than his fair share of battles and did well bringing others into play. He wasn't the reason we lost that's for sure.

He definitely wasn’t the reason we lost but he only won 43% of his duels yesterday which definitely isn’t more than his fair share

stats don't always tell the story - 43% is pretty good - i bet LLoyd Jones won 90% + against his striker - always easier to win headers as a defender - i prefer to believe my eyes than the stats which don't take account the service / balls he's having to work with.

And also that whether or not he comes back next season, we need at least one other player who can do what he does, preferably more.

Leaburn is a good player but he doesn't play the same way, nor do the young prospects Kanu or Mbick.

I agree, thought he was really poor and nothing came off for him. I can't understand him getting 7.5s on the player marks thread, we must all watch a different game sometimes.

I hope it was just a poor performance in isolation and not a case of, "I made the Scotland squad, mission complete."
  • He was too ill to play last week so I expect he didn't train as he usually would this week. Hopefully yesterday's slightly subdued performance was just down to this.

Wasn’t at his best yesterday, but didn’t put in as much of a shocker as our midfield
