The issue for Rehan is that, in India, England won't go into any match with just two seamers. So, who do they drop? We all know who the obvious one is but he has too much behind him and an integral part of this regime that they won't do it.1

Wow. Super impressive to come in like that, having not played for a month since the ODI series, yet smack the ball from the start.0

Brook to bowl his seam up filth to take it up to three seamers 😉Addick Addict said:The issue for Rehan is that, in India, England won't go into any match with just two seamers. So, who do they drop? It has just been said that, approximately, Pakistan will have to beat Sri Lanka by 65 runs or chase the total down in 13 overs.1
-
NZ hit 1.07 (1/14 in old money) in running0

Jacks deserves a knighthood
When Addick Addict gives a Surrey player credit it's well deserved 😁2 -
A sportsman's bet they don't? (albeit I reserve the right to claim "void" if Buttler is reported to pull up lame or gets a bout of Delhi belly)Leuth said:

Very, veery reluctantly. I'd really like to argue with four MOMs but it is, even for me, very hard to do so. England have found a perfect role for him and one that he fully understands.blackpool72 said:Jacks deserves a knighthood

I've already said that I don't think they will drop Buttler but Jacks is the wrong man, right now, to shove up the order because he has made himself invaluable doing what he does. To me, Buttler now goes to 5 and Banton opens.2 -

I unfortunately didn't get to see our innings but very impressed with our response. Butler still with question marks over him but otherwise not a bad result1

Tom Banton is a strange one, he was here ( in Brisbane), a couple of years ago, and was unbelievable in the BB, looked an absolute superstar in the making at the top of the innings. Seemed to lose his way for a while, and I was surprised to see him back for this WC, hopefully gets some good runsAddick Addict said:

Three things can happen when players reach the top when young - they start to think that the game is easy when continuous development and practice is even more important at that age; immaturity allied to being constantly congratulated and encouraged to "enjoy" being in that position can lead to too many off-field distractions; analysts will work out your strengths and reacting to that, mentally and technically, can be more difficult for someone so inexperienced.brownbear said:

Some of those things applied to both Swann (England debut 2000 and recalled 2008) and Duckett (debut 2016 and recalled 2022). Banton's had to go backwards to go forwards and to start to give some respect to what he's achieved. Two weeks ago he said as much "I have kind of, I don't know, just grown. I've learned a lot about myself. Not even anything to do with cricket."3 -
Banton burst on the scene with Somerset and looked like the next superstar off the conveyer belt at Taunton , his hockey background was really obvious and he looked like he'd be cemented at the top of the order in white ball cricket for England , then I think people sussed him a bit and he lost confidence but last summer he looked like the player that broke through in 2018-19.Addick Addict said:

Speaking of Somerset and top order white ball players , will be interesting to see if Will Smeed ever quite manages to progress to international cricket - feels like he's living off that 100 in The Hundred and that bizarre now reversed decision to retire from red ball cricket a couple of years back at 21. Didn't do a lot for the Lions in the T20s last week though.2 -
Duckett must have really got his head down during that length period to have earned a recall like that. Well done to him.Addick Addict said:

NZ bang in trouble suddenly. SL are a shell of a sporting outfit1
-
sri lanka are so disappointing. Pakistan will easily beat them..0
-
They aren't even appealing for catches behind.
On a completely separate note:
"The ICC's own anti-corruption chief stated that Sri Lanka has "more corruption investigations than anywhere else." A permanent ICC Anti-Corruption Unit office was established in Colombo — the only country to receive this level of scrutiny."

In 13 previous innings against Sri Lanka, Fakhar averaged 8.50. He is currently 79* off 38
150-0 (14)0 -
Look who their fucking captain is. Up to his eyebrows in itAddick Addict said:They aren't even appealing for catches behind.

Oh he's having a bowl at a crucial stage of the innings. And he's doing ever so well2
-
Pakistan are out.
Needed to restrict SL to 147. They’re on 167-6.
If the Windies avoid defeat tomorrow to knock India out, there’ll be no Asian sides in these semifinals, being held in Asia.
Even more amazing when you think one of the places isn’t taken by the Aussies either.0 -
Sri Lanka giving this a go!0

This is absolutely incredible
4 6 6 6 dot
6 to win off the final ball

And a dot to finish0

Addick Addict said:I've said this for years but I've never understood why the MOM has to come from the winning side. Hardik received it for his 50* (23) and 0-21 off 3 overs but I'm sorry India would have won without his efforts and Bennett's 97* off 59 is far more of an achievement (especially taking into account the respective bowling attacks they both faced).
Dare I say that, in the good old days, the best performance on the day received the award and that is, in my opinion, how it should be.
Well there's a first for a long time. Raza, captain of the losing Zimbabwe team, is MOM against SA. His achievement is exceptional, though, in becoming only the second player in T20 WC history to score 70+ and take three wickets in a match.0 -
So, South Africa will play New Zealand on Wednesday in Kolkata and England will play the winners of the game, just about to start, between India and West Indies on Thursday in Mumbai. Both games 13.30 start.0
-
I’m currently in Mumbai and staying at the ambassador hotel which is right next to the Bramborne cricket stadium and a short walk to the Wankehede stadium. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s a match on whilst I’m there.

Ok, England supporters and England critics.
Is it best to play the hosts in India or the West Indies who have found their Mojo ?
India win toss and put West Indies in, in a winner takes all game.
I would prefer Windies despite them winning by 30 runs in the round robin group.

As the game will be in India I'd rather play the Windies 100%0
