We're 3 points further from relegation. I think I still deserve my promote. And did someone mention custard? 😃
Just as important it’s one less game for everyone to play. You don’t deserve a promote for forgetting to mention that….

Probably a couple of draws and a win and we will be safe. Of course today was the game I decided not to bother going!. Great win
You can keep that run going for the rest of the season for all I care...😃

I know he didn’t have much to do today, but I reckon mannion is better than kaminski
Im supportive of Kaminski but Mannion deserves to keep his place when K is fit.

    At last!
    A good 3 points.
Said early on I reckon 47 will be enough and I'm sticking by that.
    Ramsay a Colossus
Kelmans goal showed signs of something that nobody else in the squad bar Godden has.
In Jones we trust. It ain't pretty but deep down we all knew it wouldn't be.

Effort and commitment was pretty much 10/10. Would have been a massive waste to not get the win but there was a 10 minute period where I would have taken a 0-0. Thought Kelman was a weird choice of first sub but how wrong I was.

Special mention for the ref who I said put in the worst performance I’ve seen when we played West Brom. Only took him 2 weeks to surpass himself.

Solid performance.  We shaded the first half, Brum improved when they replaced the thug Priske with Stansfield but then we brought on Kelman and JRC and took control again. Very good finish by Kelman,  a proper finishers goal.

Pretty disappointed with Brum,  for the money they've spent,  they were very ordinary.

No injuries, no bookings,  we can now approach the Middlesbrough game totally relaxed, knowing that we don't HAVE to get anything there.

  • Remember, we've still got to play Sheff Wed away. Even I find it hard to believe we can muck that one up.

If we win that one, we are only one other win away from 50 points which will surely be enough to keep us up.

That's just what the doctor ordered, well done to the team. Pleased for Mannion who now deserves a chance and let Kaminski learn how to take crosses out the air. So pleased for Kelman 🤞he kicks on and grabs the headlines with some more goals!

    Great Win!!!!!!

Still work to do, that’s for sure but a monster of a result that if not decisive in our survival it’s very encouraging. Plaudits to Charlie Kelman who has had a very mixed season to say the least. He’s very good at digging out a shot in a tight spot. Hardly any space and so little back lift in getting his shot off. I think Nathan knows that we have to find a way to be more fluid when attacking for next season and I’m expecting a significant investment in some quality in the summer. Two more wins a a draw or two should do it but the teams below us are pretty much all making a fist of it. We must too.

great result and surely... surely with 9 points and only 10 games left we can breathe out now

thought the performance was decent in spells but pretty ragged a lot of the time, some poor decisions and execution of the ball and let them take the game over second half - but defended excellently

Thought dykes had one of his worst games for us, our players always seem to fail to turn up against their old clubs!

thought Clarke was excellent... just wish our best chances didn't all keep falling to him ! Ramsay also back towards his best

let's hope we can enjoy the rest of the season now and slowly start to try and play some more coherent / fluid football, use fullah, rankin costello, maybe even Kelman etc and see if we can keep improving

and also rest poor old Lloydy (who was superb again, what a player!)

Wow did we need a win, team played well and really pleased for Kelman, not wanting to overshadow our performance but Brum were really poor, livened up a bit when the rat came on but even then weren’t great. We are going to be alright, get in!!!!!

Nathan Jones on Charlie Kelman: “He is a goalscorer - a top-level finisher. He is one of the best that I’ve worked with, in terms of his finishing. When he gets an opportunity then he is clean - really, really clean." #cafc

Nice and honest interview, seems to see his absense from the team as a bit of his own fault

  • Lloyd Jones was immense. Great reading of the game, and physical when required. Top performance.

Dykes clearly loved that but what on earth is Rodwell doing that near the dressing room

Assuming that's outside the away dressing room??

Was going to post the same. Very honest, admits he needs to do more but at the end of the day he's a finisher. Derek Hales used to do fuck all most of the time but scored goals. I think with a full pre season under his belt Charlie will fly next season. Him up with Dykes or Miles, but we need better in midfield and need to get Charlie in good positions more often and he'll score.

This was a hard fought clean sheet and a much deserved win. Three points at just the right time against a newly-promoted rival that will be quite unsatisfied with their current position and run of form. They’re not challenging for the playoffs and you’d have to think the ambitious (pompous?) owners won’t be happy with the manager and the current state of affairs.

    Charlton 1 Birmingham 0
    Over to you

    Loved that!

And the very good and thorough review 🙏

Jones, Bell and Ramsay were excellent. Clarke impressed again but needs to improve his finishing.

Chambers disappointing again - very lightweight and poor decision making.

We look very solid defensively but still struggle up top - thankfully Kelman delivered.

Joint 3rd best clean sheet record in the league

5 pts further ahead after 36 games than 19/20.

2 more wins boys, 2 more wins.

Kelman is a proper goalscorer, proper goalscorer’s finish yet again, ball bobbling around in the box and suddenly it’s in the back of the net with Kelman celebrating. Love it. He really should be given to the end of the season starting alongside dykes or Leaburn and get a real run going.

Jones absolutely monstrously good yet again. As well as Ramsay back to his best. Clarke is quality too, just needs to learn how to shoot and he’ll be a top rwb.

Feels like the Birmingham home game last season. The players did their jobs to a man and then the game was decided by a brilliant bit of finishing by our poacher. At the start of the season I think a few of us said that realistically for a player playing his first Championship season in this team a return of 5-7 goals for Kelman would be decent and he's just hit the bottom end of that. Hopefully he can add a couple more before the season's end. Absolutely huge result for us though, everyone else took at least something from their games but they can't beat 3 points so we've only gained. Two more wins would be perfect and we need to target Sheff Weds (which we will somehow contrive to not win) as well as Oxford and Norwich as games where we really go for it. Win all three and we're there, win two and we almost certainly are but we really do need to be getting the 3 points everyone else has got off Wendies and not losing to Oxford. Play like we did today and we can do it

Also would love to know what goes through the centre half’s mind when theyre relieved they’ve seen off dykes only to see Leaburn sprinting towards them.

    Good result!
have to say i prefer mannion in goal. Feels safer!
thought our centre mids were great today.
    Jones immense as usual.

Would also love to sign clarke, not sure i can see it happening tho.
