  • Super start to March, so let's march on up the table .. great to see Kelman scoring, I had lost all faith in him
Mostly, thank the Lord for Jones, Ramsay and Bell, one of the best defence trios in the division
Lastly, I don't hold out too much hope that we can sign Harry Clarke on a permanent deal in the summer. He is one of the best loanees we have ever had and if he costs a lot and wants to join us, please splash the cash
I believe he was 4th choice at Ipswich so you never know.
Ashley young is 40 next season, and apparently they’re keen too offload Ben Johnson so he’s automatically going to be 2nd choice this summer anyway. I think a deal can be done for Clarke it’s just are we going to be able to outcompete other interest
Yeah can't remember exactly how it broke down but the Ipswich fan who spoke to RC after we signed him basically said Clarke was the one (or maybe one of two) likely to be in the long term plans of the club. Obviously depends how everything shakes out at season end but I don't think he's someone they will be looking to offload, and certainly not on the cheap.

    PWR

11AM kick off my end, had a big day at horse racing lined up, full day out etc, so really was intent on not letting Charlton ruin my weekend, managed to get the Mrs to leave just as FT whistle went, haven’t come down off cloud nine since. Genuinely, what a massive win that was.

No fluke about it either, throughly deserved and Jones got the game plan right, as he did against Wrexham it just didn’t go our way.

Woke up with a massive hangover today and just cracked on on the beers today and feeling absolutely brilliant for it right now, purely due to the fact the mighty reds got 3 points. We won’t f*ck it up from here. We are staying up.

I wanted Jones gone after Millwall, mostly was emotional after the result but i still had some massive concerns, he’s answered them and him and the board have proved why they’re in charge and make decisions and fans like me don’t. COYR.

    Couple of little extras

    1) Lloyd Jones did really well not to react/follow up on that striker that left one in on him and floored him. If he'd been booked it would have been a suspension. Its "just" being a pro, I guess....but still.

    2) Kelman cupping his ears at Brum. His dad is from Birmingham,  right? Maybe a Villa fan?

    COYR!
    Nathan Jones 100% support

Charlie was born in Basildon, Essex and his mum is English.
Kelman only went to Texas for his dad's work from 4-10 and again at 14 when he played youth football for a year in Dallas before coming back to play in the Southend academy.
Kelman senior became an American citizen, hence why Charlie qualifies to play for the US of A.

If Charlie's dad is a Brummie ? that would explain why he wanted to escape!

He cupped his ears because Brum fans do that cringe shouting of “WHO?” every time a player is substituted.
    Apparently not

    Did it because

    A) L1 golden boot race last year
B ) Brother in law supports them

Not that I care ... but, Birmingham turned up with some attitude today.

Turning round the KO, taking an age on every dead ball situation, feigning injury.

I often look at other teams with envy at the talent at their disposal, but if they can't add a bit of 'Charlton' heart and soul to that, it ain't worth a light.
From what I remember, that's how they played last season too. They achieved record League One points without playing beautiful football most of the time.

So essentially they play a more expensive version of the same strategy as us. Support us, save money and not have to live in the hell hole that is Birmingham.  Win win.

I was listening to the Birmingham commentary. They were very kind to that idiot Priska, and at the end they were referring to Charlton employing the dark arts to win, which given some of their antics, was a very strange take. Just made the win sweeter.
I have a friend who is a Pompey fan and two who are Derby fans - all of them said that we are the dirtiest team they have played this season. I was gob-smacked, believing that we are a generally honest and fair team and that it's other teams who are continually fouling us and getting away with it. It goes to show how biased football supporters are.
    https://playerstats.football/championship/stats/fouls-committed

In this table of the most fouls committed per game, we are 4th. So yes we are quite dirty. However as Derby are 3rd, the Derby fans are in no position to talk  :D

    https://playerstats.football/championship/stats/yellow-cards

Similarly for yellow cards, we're 3rd and Derby are 2nd!

What has been impressive though, is that despite all the yellows, we've only picked up one red.
I've always thought that Lloyd Jones is very good at not getting a 2nd yellow when he's already been booked !

Hoping next season for a defense made up of Bree, Clarke, Ramsey, Sichenje, Lloyd, Bell, Edwards + 3 additions.  Move on a Burke and Gillesphey.
No idea whether any of Gough, Mitchell, Laquetabua etc are up to stand in roles.
I doubt Southampton will let him go.
IIRC his contract is up, not Southampton’s decision

Ironic how Clean Sheet Wins have become the basis of our success since Sandgaard departed the scene...
I wonder if he can watch Charlton TV from his prison cell? Addicks to victory!!
