Kelman chance first half was the clearest chance either team had.Open goal really
Should have put his foot through it instead of trying to pass it across the keeper. Good save but should have buried it.....

May be an image of football and text that says UP THE BORO UNIBET 000000 UNIBET CA CASNO -000000 UNIBET
    Our support tonight

Probably more than the 329 that turned up at The Valley tonight to watch the Women's team.

Need the whole table - we're only 10 points off the play-offs and this was the second of a run of eleven consecutive 1-0 wins.
Only 7 points off the playoffs under next season's rules!
Yeah, next season there could be a team chasing a playoff place and fighting relegation at the same time (!)

I had every intention of watching the game tonight but went out for 'a couple" after work and missed it.

However, can I just say, we are crap, TC is abysmal, we won't win many games playing like that and Nathan Jones has to go.

Now. What was the score? *hic

Nine pages in and I’m surprised no one has mentioned just how good it was to have a competent ref tonight. Take a bow that man.
Best all season, just let the game flow.

Bit late to the party but wow, just wow. I was critical of the starting line up but NJ obviously knows his stuff. Some exceptional performances out there tonight. Clarke, Coady, Mannion, Coventry, Carey etc etc, not a bad performance from any of the starting eleven. Bell and Ramsay very good when they came on. Special mention for Keenan Gough, didn’t put a foot wrong, so assured, well done lad. Doc though was the pick for me, absolutely everywhere. He’s so good without the ball it’s unreal. I also thought Chambers grew as the game went on. Considering he was on a yellow (and probably should have seen red) he held his nerve, his composure and had a good game. Mannion was also very assured, only a couple of nervy moments but his handling is very good and for sure he keeps him spot once Kaminski is fit.

I’m not buying into this ‘Kelman missed a sitter’ bollocks. It wasn’t a sitter, he did what every striker is told and put it back from whence the keeper had come, it was on target and the keeper made a wonderful save. If Mannion had pulled that off we’d be creaming ourselves into next week.

One negative for me, and I know it’ll be popular with some but not others, and that was TC. Thought he was very poor. He got back once, tracked a runner and stopped a cross, but other than that he was ambling around and offered very little. When I look at the effort of Doc, Coventry, Carey etc then he really needs to up his game.

I have to say that was one of the best, most disciplined defensive performances I can remember for a long, long time. To stay that focussed for 90+ minutes both physically and mentally takes some doing. Immense.

Manion makes his catches look so easy, are they the same shots Kaminski would parry back out?

coulda shoulda been 0-2 but Kelman tried to put his shot back across goal when he should have buried it at the near post
  • What an absolute banger of a result that is. Proper team performance and we did a right job on them.

Thought the midfield was excellent and the make shift backline did well - Gough especially looks completely at home starting in the champ, did well positionally and stepped out nicely a few times. Excited to see more from him.

When the usual starters came into defence as subs they bossed it.

I think I might be the only one on here that doesn't think that was Mannion's best - thought he was fine and he keeps his place for me no question, but there were a few crosses he'd normally claim and didn't, plus a flap on one of the only times he did come. Few miskicks and putting defenders in trouble. Then had one save to make, decent stop onto the bar but if he let it in right over his head you'd question it. Again don't think it was bad, just not seeing the standout / MOM performance others are for this game.

On their forum they were moaning about a blatant penalty and Chambers should have been sent off. Any realism in this.

I did not watch the game have been out, so very happy with 3pts, but the BBC stats are shocking. They had 34 shots to our 5, they had 277 successful passes in the final third to our 24, they won 76.9% of tackles to our 53.4%, and so on.
We can not expect to win many more games if keep to stats like that. the one are I guess Borough were useless at was hit the goal.

Think yourself lucky you had something better to do and didn't have to sit through that crap. Proves how Jones still doesn't know his best starting 11. Lucky tonight, and key players got Jones out of jail. Sick of these narrow wins.
    Irony ?

The penalty, no way. Chambers, if they’d been VAR he’d have seen red (in my opinion).

Not sure what’s worse, you looking on there at the time we’ve won or him on here. 😂

Isn't "kicking the ball at their own players" known as passing  :)

I don’t know what the source is for it being a Championship record, but at the very least it can’t be far off.

The players were magnificent. They worked their bollox off and gave nothing away. It was an outstanding defensive display which was a joy to watch. Anyone who says otherwise should maybe go to the pictures instead.

Can't add more to what's already been said. Well maybe stop banging on about free hits! We are here to compete and compete we can! 😁

Kelman should have scored but then I think the GK done well and it was a good stop. Doc was amazing, proper captain's performance.

Mannion, starting position is yours to lose!

    Onto Oxford now.
