Agree about Mannion's kicking. Surprised it hasn't been mentioned more.1

TK saves that shot on Saturday9

Not too fussed on Kaminski being injured because whilst i don't think he's as bad as a lot of people make out, i do think Mannion is a capable deputy. Neither are spectacular, not great, not terrible.
The issue of course is if Mannion gets injured/suspended. We've then got to play a guy who's never made a league appearance and was playing for Gateshead a few weeks ago.2 -
He did have a hell of a lot of practising shot stopping there thou and taking goal kicks!!Chris_from_Sidcup said:The issue of course is if Mannion gets injured/suspended. We've then got to play a guy who's never made a league appearance and was playing for Gateshead a few weeks ago.0 -
Keeper is arguably the least important position for us considering the defence does 90% of the work anyway. If you look at the games we’ve kept 11 clean sheets and picked up most our wins, besides Sheffield United, QPR, West Brom and arguably Ipswich Kaminski has had nothing to do. As long as they don’t concede a lot of horror long shots we often don’t need our keeper to do too much1

He’s a funny one. There’s a calmness about him, but he never quite takes charge of his box, either with his voice or presence. He’ll pull off a couple of superb saves, then throw in something that makes him look like he’s only just started keeping.
His kicking is similar in that it's either rushed/weak, or on the money to start the move for a goal like Derby away and Stoke at home.Just as he’d hit top form, helped by having actual wing backs in front of him, he made that awful error against Portsmouth. For someone with his experience, he’s a tricky one to summarise!5 -

I must have blinked when he showed that calmness.1

So other than 36% of our clean sheets he hasn't had to do much...Crispywood said:Keeper is arguably the least important position for us considering the defence does 90% of the work anyway. Got nothing to do with being calm. He made a save._uptheaddicks said:

Yeah I agree it was a good shot, but TK isn't perfect but he is a great shot stopper and a great overall keeper imoCAFCsayer said:llama_child_21cws said:TK saves that shot on Saturday

Well if its Kaminski, Jones has lost the plot big time with his goalkeeping selection.fenaddick said:0 -
Would be incredibly harsh on Mannion to lose it nowfenaddick said:7 -
While I agree it would be harsh for Mannion to be dropped, he was only playing because Kaminski was injured. At end of the day and whether a lot of fans like it or not, Kaminski is currently our first choice keeper. If Kaminski is fully fit and we start Mannion today, then Mannion has to be the keeper for rest of season. We can't have a situation where he keeps playing until a big mistake and then Kaminski is brought back in.Big decision for Nathan to make today.0

I’d be disappointed but not surprised if TK comes back in
Mannion just looks safer to me claims everything in the box and actually catches the ball rather than pushing to the side of flapping
I am pretty sure Lloyd Jones and the rest of the defence would prefer Mannion behind them as well
For a game like today we need a strong set piece keeper1 -

Get rid of TK.Not worth the wages. Invest TK salary in a better CF. Mannion is a better and cheaper keeper.0

Pigs on the pitch if Mannion is dropped.2

Jones' currency is high at the moment. The two recent wins have all but alleviated the risk of relegation.
But I remain critical of his flexibility. He has a method, which is fine when it works, but he will always resort to 'what he knows best'. That's why we have a selection of ex-Luton players.
I will take a punt. I think he'll bring Kaminski back today.
You can almost hear ... "Thomas is our No. 1. Mannion has done well, but if Thomas is fit, he plays."
I hope I'm wrong.0 -
Don't see why we'd make a change at this point. Mannion has conceded one goal in three games and looked pretty steady in those performances. He's benefited from exceptional defensive displays but has backed the defenders with a good command of his area which is exactly what has been needed. When Mannion got injured last season AMB came in and despite not being a particularly good L1 keeper he kept his place because he didn't do anything to merit losing it until he got injured himself. I don't think Jones will rush Kaminski back unless Mannion gives him a reason to in the next couple of games3

I think Mannion has contributed to those defensive displays. I would bet the team trust Mannion more than Kaminski, especially those that have played with him last season.Garrymanilow said:Don't see why we'd make a change at this point. Don’t see a world where we’re paying 14k for Coady. He was always meant to be a squad playerRonnieMoore said:

Mannion continues.
Well done, Nathan.1 -
Crucial touch to give Lloyd time to clear off line today at 1 nil3

His crap kick did give them the chance in the 1st place. Keeper wouldn’t have changed the outcome todayLittleAddick said:Crucial touch to give Lloyd time to clear off line today at 1 nil2
