Just do not lose,  they will be difficult for us. They like us play with 10 men back, we struggle to break teams like that down.
Bombard them with Clarkey's new thunderbolt throw-ins and get our new fox in the box Coady up there with Jones for corners and throw ins..
This will be another ugly one but today we will pretty much seal our Champ survival with a hard fought 0-1 win.
Carey with a 2nd half goal.........

    About 4 miles.
Buses number 1 & 5 from outside the station take you very close to the stadium.

Just can’t see Oxford stringing 4 consecutive wins and don’t think we secure a 3rd consecutive win either - 1:1 for me. That will do - maintain the gap and mightily close to 50 pts.

Would take a draw all day after the heroics of Wednesday but alas think a defeat is on the cards it’s just what we do after a great performance. Fortunately it won’t be terminal as we are safe now I’m sure. Start building for next season

A lot of travelling done by the boys this last week. Hoping that doesn’t affect too much.

A point would be really good in the circumstances

Would start Dykes and Kelman up front. See if Kelman can get on a run.
TC better as an impact sub with pace imo

You can never tell with Nathan but Mannion deserves to keep the Jersey after his last two commanding performances.

If Ramsay(back to his best) had any reaction to his alleged hamstring strain (stated Nathan) then either rest him or have him on the bench.
When I said play Coady at CB in the Boro preview a poster said he was poor when at Wrexham!
Perhaps it's best not to always listen to fans of other clubs and remember Coady played for England at CB just a few years ago.

With Clarke and Chambers as Wing backs, I would feel confident with a combo of Jones, Coady and Bell as CB's, with Coventry, Docherty and top scorer Carey in midfield with probably Dykes and Kelman though I would like to see if Miles and Charlie could get a relationship going with both having a good 1st touch.
I want to see Kelman with a bit more fire in his belly and though gutted he didn't score I was pleased he got into the position to miss against Middlesbrough.

It's a must win for Oxford but a draw is decent for CAFC.
Bizarrely I feel both teams will go for it.

I will go for a Desmond 2.2 degree at Oxford.🤦🏻‍♂️
  • Another equalise first and stop the opposition from scoring their first goal game except we will spoil the run by getting another two.

    A "don't lose" game.

6 points from the 3 games this week is already a decent return but 1 or even 3 more would be excellent.

Oxford on a roll and have everything to fight for so won't be easy but it feels like a low scoring draw.

Fully expect the same starting XI as Birmingham

Wont be surprised if this is treated as another "must not lose" game and we end up seeing a poor performance with it ending 1-1
    This

Would take a draw here. Every point away from home is a good one from this point.

Keep it tight and can see gaps appearing in the second half as for them it’s must win
    And this.

Still a massive game even with the unexpected 3 points on Wednesday night. They need it more than us. Keep it at 0-0 for as long as possible and then head back to se7 with a 1-0 win and 50 points on the board. A draw still a decent result.

    1-0 addicks. Ginger genius.

Oxford have a pretty tough last 8 games after today (with the exception of Sheffield Wednesday at home), so there’ll be a lot of pressure on them to take the game to us to secure the 3 points and jump out of the bottom 3. Buoyed by 3 consecutive wins (albeit against sides who are all bang out of form), I think they’ll really go for it against us.

Our forwards and first choice defenders should be reasonably fresh, although the Doc, Coventry and Carey covered an awful lot of ground on Wednesday. They’re all very fit lads and I suppose that we do have potential reinforcements from the bench like Rankin-Costello, Coady and Fullah should the need arise. I’m quite sure that Nathan will use his full complement of 5 substitutes, given the short recovery period (no wonder the Europa and Conference League clubs are always moaning).

The fact that Oxford have won 3 on the bounce yet still find themselves 9 points behind us is quite something. Maintaining that gap with a draw would be a very satisfactory outcome, although suffice it to say that wild celebrations will ensue should we win and hit the magic 50 point mark.

En route to an early 10:30 rendezvous in Spoons.

This was billed us our biggest game of the season about a month ago but how times have changed ..but looking at it from a selfish point of view would we prefer Blackburn and Oxford in the championship next season then say WBA and Leicester the thinking being that Oxford and Blackburn have more chance of being involved in a relegation battle next season then say WBA and Leicester if they survive,… given the lack of prep , Oxford will most likey feel favs , personally I think this is a stone wall drawer just hope we go a bit more attacking minded then Wed .

    Team depending on injuries

    Kaminski ( pending on fitness)
    Clarke
    Ramsey
    Jones
    Bell
Fevrier ( wing back bit more attacking )

    Coady
    Doc
    Carey

( Coventry will be looked after with his injury )

    Dykes
    Kelman

The fact you think Kaminski walks straight back into this team shows how garrity you really are! That being said, my old man will have kittens if the allegiance between NJ and Kaminski comes to fruition tomorrow come 11.15am!!
Had to look up "garity"never heard it used before.says "crazy ,mad anngry".thank you for  adding anotbef word to my vocabulary

I think there’s a little too much complacency on CL after Wednesday.  It’s understandable because it was an amazing result but the relegation fight is not over.

It’s easy to look at the table and calculate that the teams below us finish with their current 1, or fractionally just above 1, point per match and so finish on 46-48 points but the last 6-8 games just don’t work like that. Mid table teams take their foot off the pedal, often unintentionally, and even those in the play-offs could do so this season as the gap is so large down to 7th place.

Teams below us play each other and while it’s true to say they both can’t win, neither can they both lose. Four teams that play each other over two rounds of fixtures can get 3 points each, giving them 1.5 points each per game.

Also Oxford and Leicester are in good form. I think at least these two will pull off some surprising results and get higher points tallies than expected.

I think it will be two of Blackburn, Portsmouth and WBA to go down and 51-52 points should be fine, but we have to get to 54 points to be absolutely sure. That’s 7 more points from 9 games. Today’s game was seen as must not lose before Wednesday and nothing yet has changed that imo. Thankfully I also think the team pay more attention to NJ than CL so we have a good chance of getting the stalemate required.

I meant to add that I agree with others that we should definitely keep Mannion in goal. He’s earned the opportunity with his last couple of performances and, given Oxford’s reliance on set plays, his ability and willingness to come and deal with crosses will be important.

  • We're the best team in the league, if the season went on another twenty matches we'd walk the title, no one can convince me otherwise - 1-3 Charlton in a surprisingly goalsy affair after Jones loosens the reins

It's a good job our next 4 games after today are against mid table teams then (3 of them home games)
