Sheffield Wednesday - Into Administration (p44)

That makes for terrible reading for the supporters but I do have to curb my sympathy a bit as they wasn’t moaning when the club was announcing multi million pound sponsorship deals with a small local taxi firm and other dodgy stuff to get round the rules9
-
Fuck em, they can go to the wall and reform as Sheffield (see you next) Tuesday for all I care9
-
Aren't they massive anymore?1
-
Rules are rules. A club like Chef Wendy won’t go out of business.2
-
If I were a Wednesday fan, I think I’d reconcile myself to starting next season on -15 points if it meant Chansiri not being “rewarded” with a higher pay-out. I’m loathe to think of Duchatelet eventually making a “profit” out of us from selling us The Valley/Sparrows Lane and, as bad as he was, Chansiri is at an even lower depth of ownership level.1
-
All gone a bit quiet on this subject.0
-
yeah that's the sound of them disappearing without a trace.1
-
I’ve never really liked them as a club in recent years, but this is a real kick in the teeth for the fans. Depending on who buys them, this could mean successive relegations as I think they need a ton of rebuilding in the summer
Starting with a 15 point penalty and going into the season with all this uncertainty and lack of talent would make it very difficult to stay up5 -

If I was a Wednesday fan, I'd be more worried that the new owner is surprised by this than by the penalty. Suggests to me that he may not properly understand what he's taking on.6

those fans seemed pretty happy when Chansiri was fabricating companies to beat the rules, fuck em.cabbles said:

The Taxi company that didn't exist was probably the most egreous attempt I've seen at getting around the rules.Stu_of_Kunming said:

Have very little sympathy I’m afraid as they didn’t for us . I know there must be genuinely good fans up there but I’ve not come across them on my trips to Hillsborough . The word Neanderthal springs to mind .4
-
Quite simply ; 2 wrongs don't make a right.
I don't remember / recall what some Sheffield Wednesday fans were saying about our plight at the time. I hope our fanbase going on Saturday get fully behind Charlton, the team certainly need all the help they can get, and don't get caught up in exploiting Sheffield Wednesdays current predicament. Have always enjoyed going to Hillsborough in the past, even if some of their fans weren't the most hospitable.3 -

Firstly, the current bidder knew this was situation, it's public knowledge.
Secondly, the current bidder can avoid the 15 point penalty by paying the IIRC 25% of debt required.
Understandably, they want to pay as little as possible but they are the rules. Chansiri is the real villian but why should the rules be bent again because Wednesday cheated?

I have no interest in them although bad owners should be something all fans unite against.
But we have our own fish to fry and we badly need three points up there on saturday. Sod Wednesday, we need to get behind our team.2 -
Agreed, although I agree with the other Henry (Winter) as well and it sticks in the throat that the creditor who will get the most out of this is the one who has caused the mess. I hate that Malteser Head, the fake Sheikh and the bent* lawyer may have benefitted from the Dodgy Dane buying our own Club, but at least karma seems to be working fast on those guys.Henry Irving said:Firstly, the current bidder knew this was situation, it's public knowledge.

This is bollocks. They knew what the score was when they made the bid. This is performative bullshit for fans - using the media to try and get out of paying the required amount to avoid the 15 point penalty.
Scummy club, scummy previous owner and scummy future owner.

I think they've been hard done by & they should protest against the football authorities by playing walk football in their next game to highlight their plight.
(Fuck 'em)4 -

I reckon 90% of football fans in the country are delighted when their owner spends money on them, and don't really care how they do it.
Seems a bit pios to call out one set of fans.1
