I've been saying for a while that I like his effort and tenacity but defensively he is a liability at times and ends up putting us under pressure with alot of his passing and positioning. Think we need to look at better for next season0
-
Useless today then again so was the entire backline0

Felt Fev was an upgrade on his recent performances at home. Was he left out due to his strop and arguments with the coaches?0

wait, we’ve got coaches ??? When did that happen ?_uptheaddicks said:Felt Fev was an upgrade on his recent performances at home. Was he left out due to his strop and arguments with the coaches?0 -

Clarke, Kaminski and Knibbs all injured saw Knibbs doing his fitness test .. on the pitch1
-
Pretty sure Knibbs was just the 'spare man' yesterday, just didnt make the matchday squad, see players doing what he was doing every weekRonnieMoore said:Clarke, Kaminski and Knibbs all injured saw Knibbs doing his fitness test .. on the pitch0 -

In the interview less week it was said he failed a fitness test so considering he was in contention but just missed out should be fit this weekend_uptheaddicks said:No word on him in today's interviews?3 -
We need him fit . As much as I don’t like our very negative system, it’s our only way of winning games2

The Charlton live pod didn't seem so confident. No mention of him returning.Crispywood said:

His throw ons are our only best attacking threat3
-
He can't play midweek, so will have a week to recover for Hull.
Besides, we mainly need him for his arms anyway

I wouldn’t mind us playing Clarke at RWB and Fev at LWB, after a bright start I think Chambers has offered very little going forward the last month or so6

Nathan Jones won't be giving Sheff W a heads up._uptheaddicks said:

Surely because he's playing to orders?Covered_End_Lad said:I wouldn’t mind us playing Clarke at RWB and Fev at LWB, after a bright start I think Chambers has offered very little going forward the last month or so
Nathan (understandably) doesn't want both wing backs pushing forward together.2 -
NJ addressed this yesterday, NJ sees him as a bit more of a fullback than a wingback. That's why when he wants an attacking force down that wing he's gone back to putting TC there (not that that always works)Covered_End_Lad said:I wouldn’t mind us playing Clarke at RWB and Fev at LWB, after a bright start I think Chambers has offered very little going forward the last month or so3 -
But he mentioned that Coady, Sichenje and Burke are all back?Covered End said:

All of which are players who have cover/competition and may or may not be playing regardless of fitness, whereas a fit Clarke more or less guarantees a start, so maybe that's the difference?_uptheaddicks said:

Gets in the team for his long throws alone at the moment. Thought Fev looked v decent against Preston, was nice to finally have some attacking intent down that side again. But think Clarke offers more stability defensively.0

A bit of a drop off in his performances lately and I thought Saturday was his worst showing for us. He’s still a player I like, but not as much as I used to!
Defensively he has been found wanting against tricky wingers, see West Brom and Portsmouth performances. Positionally he is often caught out - though admittedly some of this is because of our formation, as TC was v Preston. And I don’t need to go over the amount of chances he’s missed. It’s a tricky position to play, and recruit for. The ideal player would have to be a great athlete, comfortable with the ball at feet, able to put a cross in, willing to take players on and defensively sound. It’s obvious that most players are going to be lacking in at least one element of what is required. The issue for Clarke lately is that he’s not contributing with goals or assists and he has been off the pace defensively. It will be interesting to see how Ramsay fares (if fit) v Ipswich, with Collins hopefully behind him. If it’s not Ramsay I’d like to see JRC given a chance in the role we were told he could play!4 -
I just don’t think JRC has it in him athletically to play wing back for us. Maybe in the kind of role Chambers is playing where he drifts inside but we can’t have both wing backs doing thatelbiglad said:A bit of a drop off in his performances lately and I thought Saturday was his worst showing for us. It will be Ramsay I’m sure of it. Ipswich will have Clarke or Philogene on the left along with Leif Davis so we will need it to be Ramsay and Sichenje to deal with that danger
I’m unsure on Clarke, clearly a very good player but I’m not sure if he’s the right profile for what we actually need at RWB. If we want to be more creative and better going forward next season then I’m not sure he’s the answer, but then he’s a good championship player so I’d probably still want to keep him because they aren’t easy for us to sign3 -
What about playing Sichenje in front of Ramsay?1
-
I'd be very happy with Clarke and Edwards as our WB's if we had more creativity in the middle of the park0
-
What would be the sense in that? Sichenje (as far as I know) has always played CB. Ramsay has played RWB, RB and RCB. Why would you put the one with less experience at RWB there?SantaClaus said:What about playing Sichenje in front of Ramsay?2 -
I think Sichenje is probably quicker than Ramsay and also has more of an eye for an attacking pass.0
