The difference in class between our game today and Coventry vs Derby this evening is unbelievable.

4 years ago Derby were on the brink of going out of business. Tonight they have a 6m striker coming off the bench.

What a difference a year makes. This time last season Derby were on 41 pts from 40 games and outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

Win today and then play the women’s team against Ipswich
To be honest, they would probably give them a tougher game than your men’s team would 😉
They’re the only team we’ve thrashed all season!
Don’t suppose it would be too much to ask if you could do it again please 🙏

All those comments here about Coburn being a donkey and a waste of money, were perhaps a bit premature...
“League 2 striker at best” apparently 🤷‍♂️

Will we have a Spurs v Man City ish style match where are own fans are split between fucking our neighbours up and winning a game that helps our scummy neighbours.
If we’re as good as safe by Ipswich game no question for me I’d want Ipswich to win , whether we finish 15th or 20th not bothered but if we can stop the scum from promotion then that’s the option I’d want every day of the week and twice on Sundays .

I refer you back to April 2017 we were fannying mid table and had Southend at home who were in a battle with the scum for the final play off spot .
we beat them 2-1 meaningless to us , a draw would have been enough to put Southend 6th instead of 7th and swapped their finishing position with the scum who went on to win the play offs.
That was the last time they were in league one and here we are today with them walking to promotion ffs while we pray for someone who can pass a ball forward next season .
the bigger picture is something a lot of our fans fail to look at with their blinkered insular view but if needs must I’ll be donning an extra finger that night and cheering on the Town

I had totally forgotten about this. I suppose we should be eternally grateful to you for that and you most definitely atoned that day for contributing to sending us down in 1996… tenfold. Where would we be today if you hadn’t beaten Southend on that fateful day? Doesn’t bare thinking about. Incidentally, you finished 13th that season. Unlucky for some? I’m not a superstitious man, but the following 7 or 8 seasons were a bit shit for you lot.

So, fast forward to your game v Ipswich. You’re mathematically safe, we’re still in a battle with them for second spot. You’re going to go to The Valley and cheer any Ipswich goals and their subsequent win? I get it, I totally get it. But how surreal would that be?!

I think you will. You always seem to follow a bad performance with a ground out draw or 1 nil win and you only need a few more points. But for arguments sake let’s say hypothetically speaking then.

For the record, I don’t think we’ll be challenging second spot by the time that game comes around. As good as yesterdays result was, and it’s lovely to be in the running, I think we’ll drop points to Norwich on Monday, Ipswich will win their games in hand and they will comfortably get second. That’s my prediction anyway.

Ipswich still have to go to Norwich next Saturday, which will be really tough as Norwich will be REALLY up for that. Then they go to Soton at the end of the month, another hard game if Soton still need points for the playoffs.

Boro is the baffling one, as their home form has gone to pot. But if they can find a way to beat the low block, they aren't totally out of the automatic conversation.

Yes it’s still very much a three horse race but Ipswich are clear favourites with the bookies and I make them right.

That FA Cup win for Southampton means that their home game against Blackburn on 25 April will have to be rescheduled.
There aren't too many dates available.

Southampton - Blackburn on 25 Apr, will now have to move, and the only midweek left free before the end of the season is next week, but Blackburn are scheduled to play on the Friday, so will probably take place on 14 April instead, unless they move a whole bunch of games around.

Tuesday 14 April is the only sensible date, so it probably won't be then!

Today I learnt that 44-pts is better than having 48-pts ;)

I'd prefer a draw, as I don't want Pompey getting any confidence.

Why...? - Pompey started the game on 41-pts / Oxford on 40-pts and in the relegation zone
The gap to the bottom three doesn't decrease with this scoreline
Oxford will be 8-pts behind us with 15-pts left, they'll basically need 2-pts per game to overhaul us

It cuts off the bottom 3 to 4 points though
