Now I remember why I always want the season to end soon as the season start, didn’t realise I’d be doing it after day 2

Bad light and potential rain has prevented the start of Durham's second innings

Shake hands on a draw, player safety is the most important thing

I see that Tom Westley was substituted after Sonny Baker broke his finger with a delivery and the same thing happened to Jonny Bairstow after he hurt his right thumb taking a catch. Both were their sides original captains.

So, with a lead of 221, it's going to be a question of how may runs Durham feel they need and how long they want to give themselves to bowl us out.

I'm disappointed that the Kent players and management haven't sneaked back into the Riverside to cause some more overnight "storm" damage.

Even at this early stage I think most people will accept that the signings of Dudgeon and Stuurman has been very good business. To date, their combined figures in the match reads 11-206
