MATCH THREAD : Watford V Charlton Athletic : Easter Monday 6th April 2026 : KO 15:00
Good afternoon one and all…
Today we make a road trip up to Vicarage Rd, where Watford await our arrival on what is hopefully a nice sunny afternoon, we can but hope at least, for what I know will be a great support as usual from the travelling Addicks. Watford sit in a very comfortable 9th spot, with a varied mix of results lately, and suffering a 2-1 defeat at QPR Good Friday, they will be a tough ask for us today, lets hope we turn up and make a quick start, and see where we are come 5pm…
TEAM NEWS… Harvey Knibbs and Matty Godden both returned to the matchday squad on Friday, with Luke Berry also nearing a return. Reece Burke, Collins Sichenje, and Josh Edwards remain sidelined. For Watford…Abankwah and Bola both missed the Hornets' last fixture, while Ngakia, Mfuni, Dwomoh, Kyprianou, Vata, and Maamma are expected to miss out.
HEAD-TO-HEAD…We've met on 67 previous occasions winning 24, the Hornets 20 and the remaining 23 meetings resulting in draws., our last meeting came at The Valley on the opening day of the season, when the Addicks ran out 1-0 victors thanks to a last-minute Harvey Knibbs winner…
Andrew Kitchen will be the man in the middle this afternoon…
We will be sporting the white and blue away kit at Vicarage Road today...
TEAM…Conor Coady and Tyreece Campbell return to the starting line-up as Nathan Jones makes two changes for today.
The pair replace Conor Coventry and Charlie Kelman who move to the bench
Kayne Ramsay, Lloyd Jones and Amari’i Bell start in a back three in front of Will Mannion.
Harry Clarke and Luke Chambers will operate as wing-backs with Coady, Sonny Carey and captain Greg Docherty making up a midfield three behind Lyndon Dykes and Campbell.
Coventry and Kelman are joined on the bench by Tiernan Brooks, Macaulay GIllesphey, Joe Rankin-Costello, Luke Berry, Harvey Knibbs,Jayden Fevrier and Matty Godden.
Meanwhile, Thomas Kaminski misses out with a shoulder injury.
Charlton: Mannion; Ramsay, Jones, Bell; Clarke, Coady, Carey, Docherty (c), Chambers; Dykes, Campbell
Subs: Brooks, Gillesphey, Coventry, Rankin-Costello, Berry, Knibbs, Fevrier, Kelman, Godden

Afternoon all
With family so won't be able to watch. But will be using this thread as an escape. Any insights appreciated.
Hate that fecking blue and white kit. Always play badly in it I feel - please prove me wrong.1 -
Been at A&E since midnight with the “significant other”, so bit early posting up thread, and without properly checking, so hopefully makes sense…🙏6

Individual errors really cost us VS Bristol -
despite not controlling the game I thought we were at least showing a little bit of attacking intent in spells.First goal wins this one again I think.0 -

TK
TC rewarded for his consistently poor finishing.

No Kaminski at all, interesting, wonder if he's actually injured, or if he's had a falling out with NJ after Friday, maybe expected to come back into the side after Mannion's mistake and was told he wasn't, let the conspiracies fly!No Fullah at all is a mistake, and that midfield is gonna have to use all of their nous because there's no pace thereCampbell starting again, despite the fact he always looks better off the bench, and Kelman and Dykes linked up well for the goal on Friday... Ah well8
-
I do look at that lineup and wonder if NJ actually knows what he's doing... no Fullah, Berry in.
To remain topical, JESUS FKIN CHRIST!7 -
Disappointed with that. Chambers looked like a little boy lost on Friday, and Fullah deserves some minutes surely.2
-
Fullah dropped from the squad. Why?7
-
Fabulous. Our non-striker winger playing up front again.
Remind me just how many goals has TC scored in the League this season.4 -
No Kelman at all. Mind you, his attitude v BC was shocking
Forget that - scrolling down does help.3 -

Bell to Campbell would all be in the A-D London telephone directory. Only Ramsay from the second half of the alphabet.2

OS is saying that Kaminski is injured (shoulder)0

is "experience" a diplomatic way of saying a shitter footballer?ForeverAddickted said:Guess he's gone for experience with Berry instead of Fullah0 -
Kaminski apparently felt his hamstring in training ? … but the question again is Campbell .. WHY … would have started with Kelman and Gooden done something different ,run and pressed there back line …4
-
Do we have an agreement with Liverpool to start Chambers in every game, I don't think he did enough on Friday to keep his place2

Do think after Friday we wouldve seen a bit more of a change up. Feel sorry for Rankin-Costello,not sure what the man has to do to get a startredlanered said:Disappointed with that. Chambers looked like a little boy lost on Friday, and Fullah deserves some minutes surely.3 -
