There is absolutely no logic after today’s results that suggests thatFreshHaddock said:1 point from a (very much) possible 9.I think we’re still safe but this is terrible form.5 -
Wasnt it 50-1 the other week?Covered_End_Lad said:We are 25-1 to go down currently, that feels massive odds0 -
Nope, read that a few times now and it still doesn't make any sense. But I probably get the gist - you think a team 5 points below us with 4 games to go wouldn't want to swap places. Fair enough. *makes mental note.msomerton said:
No that would not, if meant having our current form.Off_it said:That's it then. Blown it. We're down. We're not going to get another point all season, whilst a couple of the teams below us are already "safe". White flags going up all over the show.
At least that's what I'm reading on this thread. But then I look at the table and wonder if any of the teams below us would love to swap places with us still ....... hmmm.
Grow some bollocks you ridiculously weak and spineless bunch.2 -
Wasn't that one of only two efforts actually on target second half, Docherty shot being the other.ct_addick said:That Preston save at the end sums it up…defender tries to clear and going in and hits their keeper who does not know where it is….then you start thinking our luck is running out…simple now…if we lose next week I can see us going down0 -
Are we re-living 19/20?4

A game lacking in quality, won by the slightly less bad team. Frustrating as we started so well, up til their goal it was up there with our best performances of the season. Carey was really poor today and Chambers not much better.
Docherty was our mom and is looking a better cdm option than Coventry at the moment. Fevrier and Campbell were good in parts but Bell and Ramsay both looked uncharacteristically shaky.
Fullah showed that he's still raw, had some good moments but could easily have ended up responsible for two goals. Dykes ineffective today, probably should have come off for Leaburn instead of the weird "formation" we ended up with.
I think we'll crawl across the line but we'll have made really hard work of it. I said after the Bristol game that I thought we'd end up picking the points we need from away games, where the other team are expected to win, because of the way Jones sets us up.
And last thing... Fevrier's corners were so much better than Carey's4 -
Season ticket sales might be slow this week 😉☹️

Jones will have to watch himself now, results are not good.Decided to go with a slightly more attacking team and it worked out no better. You can see why he plays the negative football he does.
Seriously unimpressed with most of the players.1 -
We need to beat Wednesday or get 3 draws to survive. However, the players look devoid of ideas and confidence.
Nathan needs to change tactics immediately as nothing is working and playing Ibby at this stage was crazy in my opinion.
I hope Coady can play next week as he might be the one to get us to limp across the line.
Relegation would be a disaster but it's at the business end of a season where you need quality but with the ridiculously low budget we never bought any....thats mostly on the owners and a little bit of Nathan regarding tactics or the lack of them.
Still think we can do it but it's going to be very very close.

11 shots, 3 on target in the second half. Won’t include that defenders almost own goal. A few of those were blocked but you’d still expect more with 3 strikers on the pitch at the endLargeAddick said:

I didn't like our last 20 minutes tactics at all, as we ended up with 3 strikers ( plus Berry later on) in the box, plus Lloyd Jones at times, but had nobody to create anything. And our 4 attackers just got in each other's way.
Plus it left us so vulnerable to the counter attack, a better team would have finished us off with 15 to go. It felt like the desperation tactics you used in added time, not when you have plenty of time to go.
I was really surprised TC was replaced with Leaburn, as it took any the only player with some pace.
And why isn't Chambers playing wide like a normal wingback? Instead he's sitting on midfield, pinging it around, but providing little width. Or defensive cover down his side.6 -
That was a difficult result but we were much better than we have been.0
-
We shouldn’t be with this squad . There’s hardly any injuries and we’ve not got a goal scorer who’s decided to go on strike like last time but performances and results don’t lie.paulsturgess said:Are we re-living 19/20?1 -
To create the space TC exploited in the first 15 mins today and first half on Monday. Also allows us to play two midfielders high up the pitch. It won’t always work but I do like itkillerandflash said:I didn't like our last 20 minutes tactics at all, as we ended up with 3 strikers ( plus Berry later on) in the box, plus Lloyd Jones at times, but had nobody to create anything. Don't know why you are using TC as a comparison because if Doc, JRC, Carey, Berry, Bell etc etc had made those errors they'd have got dogs abuse too. The difference between Ibby and them, including TC, is that he's an 18 year old kid with a handful of first team appearances under his belt whereas the others are not and maybe he shouldn't have been put in that position by NJ although I can see why NJ brought him on, to try and give us a spark.Pelling1993 said:
I’m not trying to dig Ibby out but if TC had given the balls away in the positions he did today he would’ve got disgusting abuse. They scored from 1 and could’ve got another 2 from him losing possession in terrible areasCroydon said:Fullah may be one for the future but he is not ready for this league. Should not be taking punts on youngsters when we're not yet safe
Why does what might or might not have happened if it were TC have to be shoehorned into everything?4 -
And for those of us who are older 1971/72 as well.ct_addick said:Shades of 2019 /2020….Supporting this club is torture at times0 -
4 to go, 5 above the drop. Highly unlikely Oxford win 50% of their games. Even more unlikely that Leicester win 75%.
We should still get a couple more points too. You get points in unexpected places in football and sometimes lose when you thought you might win.
I hope the players have more character than the bed wetters on here.19 -

There's negativity but not sure I've seen a single comment saying were definitely down?

Said for 5 or 6 weeks that I can see us going down at Swansea.
We started so bloody well today.
Been saying 'four more points' until the recent draw. It's the final three that is the problem. I can easily see us getting no more, but as ever hope to god I'm wrong.
IF we stay up, the owners pumping money into next season vs doing the bare minimum and keeping Jones sticking with the 'keep it tight and nick one in the second half'/ 'bypass the midfield' type of play is altogether another conversation. Although we will obviously go down if the latter is the case.0 -
Same as Sheff Wed. We are slightly better in the fact we have scored 3 goals twice. Sheff Wed have scored 2 goals in 5 games.Jayajosh said:We’ve only scored more than one goal five times this season, let that sink in. We are ‘one goal Chartlon’ and the Championship’s gift.
But we have kept plenty of clean sheets so that's alright then.3 -

Lose at Wednesday and we are fucked !3
-
Yet another pony team comes to The Valley and wins. Glad the last game is on TV, so I don’t have to sit through any more dross football at our home ground. If we can see it, surely NJ can.Don’t start TC
Always start Godden if possible
Carey is invisible, don’t bother.Play to go forward - not sideways and back
Don’t take too many touches - gamble.Practice corners and FK - we are awful.5 -
Oxford have Wednesday to play and Millwall last game of the season. If Millwall have playoffs secured they will rest players for that gameCharlton and on said:4 to go, 5 above the drop. Highly unlikely Oxford win 50% of their games. Even more unlikely that Leicester win 75%.

Pompey play Leicester next week when we play Sheff Wed. They also play their game in hand (against Ipswich) this coming Tuesday.ForeverAddickted said:mendonca said:We'll be okay, have you seen Portsmouth's run-in?
😮Beating Middlesbrough isn't the end of the world, given how they've fallen off a cliff with their promotion pushBut just need to hope that this is more of a flash in the pan for Portsmouth rather than rejuvination
If we lose next Sat just hope to God that Pompey dont beat Leicester otherwise we will be in big trouble.
And Oxford's last 2 matches are against Sheff Wed & Millwall.4 -
