Maybe Coady could stay on for next season. His experience is surely great for the younger players and his midfield role seems to work, especially away.

I think Coady and Dykes have proved that there should always a place in a squad for experienced quality players.
Just as Matty Godden reinforced yesterday.
Can't wait for Lewandowski to join in the Summer.
I am sorry I don’t think Dykes is a quality player. If he was he wouldn’t be with us. He is a journeyman who works really hard and scores the odd goal.
There’s definitely room for a few Championship journeymen, it’s not as if he’s a L1 player who offers nothing at this level.

As he is still under contract with Wrexham having taken the Hollywood dollers (who can blame him) will probally go out on a season loan next season if Wrexham do not cancel his cotract as they have done with other under contract players who are surplus to requirements, i suppose it hangs what league Wrexham are in next season.

I think Coady is the sort of player we could do with having around next season. To improve we must be prepared to spend the money to improve the quality of our squad.

Coady has been coaching at Liverpool and England in the youth teams. If Wrexham pay him off then maybe we could sign him on a player/coach deal and he could continue that process in the first team environment and play a role on the pitch when needed

Truthfully at first listening to his interviews I thought he came across a bit billy big bollox, but it turns out it was just experience talking and In turn he has let the football do the talking, his attitude has been brilliant, he literally put himself on the line for us and got sparked out for it,I have to say what with him and Dykes this season I will never judge a player until I’ve given them a chance in the charlton red.Top class the pair of them, with credit to NJ and the club for getting them in.

    Yes, but that’s overthinking.

Hope they got him to sign a new contract whilst he was still a bit dazed and confused.

Might even offer a pathway into coaching. I know he likes being a pundit/talking head but might be useful to teach the younger ones.

    He’s already coaching at Liverpool.
  • Anyone know - is he able to play next week after his concussion injury?

Believe he can if he passes all the appropriate tests

Isn't it 14 days concussion protocol?

Edit -  Some suggestions it's 21 days before a return to playing.

Doesn’t the all-clear negate that though?

Not sure. Can't find anything definitive.

Edit, the 'all clear' might refer to getting back on the grass, light training etc but I think you have to be at least 14 days clear of any symptoms before returning to play, possibly 21.

We're going to need him to get over the line imho.

See page 15 of the attached FA guidance. Return to play is 21 days, return to full training is 14 days.

Says it is “guidance” rather than rules so not sure if there are any sanctions for clubs / players taking a different approach.

I don’t think football is anywhere near as strict on concussion as it should be.

    Was it officially concussion?

He was knocked out which I think is automatically a concussion
