It's only the third time in FC cricket that the top four have hit tons. There have been only three partnerships of 200 plus in the same innings once previously and Proctor is unique as being the only player to be involved in all three.killerandflash said:That is humiliatingly bad. Yes the conditions were harder than yesterday, and yes there's scoreboard pressure, but this is totally unacceptable. Mentally so weak.
Incidentally, it must be pretty unique, an innings where only 4 players batted, and all 4 scored tons?4 -
Why is Jas batting ahead of Jaydn?0

Sorry, why was Jas batting ahead of Jaydn?0

Nightwatchman. They sent Milnes in before him too and that meant that Benjamin was batting at 9 and Jaydn at 10Pedro45 said:Sorry, why was Jas batting ahead of Jaydn?1 -
Evison LBW

Followed by Jaydn bowled first ball1

Kent need to crack on.
That run rate is not good enough. We only really have four sessions to knock off the 500+ deficit and set Northants a decent target.10 -
178 all out
Dudgeon bowled for 12 and Benjamin left stranded on 31*1 -
Crawley out for 5, 7/11

Crawley out for 5 - caught at cover off a leading edge trying to work the ball through mid-wicket
7-10 -
Sadly, not a surprise.Addick Addict said:Crawley out for 5 - caught at cover off a leading edge trying to work the ball through mid-wicket

Surely someone has to take him aside & start from scratch with his technique, attitude or both !0 -
He needs an hour or two with Sir Geoffrey.Fanny Fanackapan said:

Some analysis on Crawley's technique on Simon Hughes' Substack. You can access it if you agree to follow him I think.0 -
It's been an issue for the whole of his career. It's less likely to be attitudinal but more because it is so ingrained.Fanny Fanackapan said:

All his dismissals this season have been a legacy of that head not being in line with the ball. Invariably, he's looking to either hit the ball through the covers or too square off his pads rather than down the ground with the full face of the bat. It's that "super-strength" overdone - his scoring areas are the very ones that are getting him out and bowlers are happy to feed that addiction (and go for runs in the process) in the knowledge that one will cause his demise.0 -
Boycott on being dismissed

Toby Radford's comments in that article are exactly what I have been saying about Crawley's head and hands. Who used to be Kent's "batting consultant"? Toby Radford. Why Kent ceased to use his services is unknown but there appears to have been a bit of a "too and fro" on social media between him and the current Kent batting coach, Jahid Ali, about Crawley's technique.killerandflash said:https://substack.com/home/post/p-193685040

Surely Crawley has to be replaced in the England team. His technique is really poor.0

Let's hope there's a frank but useful outcome from these "discussions".Addick Addict said:

Zak can't surely continue to play in this manner with his career at stake IMO.1 -
It's questionable whether he deserves a place in the Kent team at the moment, never mind England...raytreacy said:Surely Crawley has to be replaced in the England team. His technique is really poor.6 -
