I've enjoyed it, they aren't holding back with their targets which is fine by me and are having a few swings. Another solid band tomorrow as well

If by solid you mean one 10 years past their best and with a lead singer who can’t sign, I’m in.

I preferred the first two weeks of newish, female fronted bands.  Progressive.

Bit harsh to expect him to cater to deaf viewers.
  • Watched series 1 Mr Mercedes and really enjoyed it. Struggling with series 2, does it get better?

Anyone else enjoying SNL UK?  Some of the sketches are very surreal Vic and Bob (what kind of irish is your granpa).   News section does not hold back and is often brutal.  Liking it so far.
Yes I said so on March 22nd.

Yeah I did struggle at the start of season 2 but it got better. Struggling with season 3 so hoping that improves

SNL UK not so good this week.
Riz Ahmed hardly raised a smile and Kasabian are so poor without Tom.

And the lead singer did not do any signing for the deaf viewers.  WOKE NONSENSE.

Jokes aside, I agree, it was poorer than week 2. George Fouracres is the undoubted star though.

Olive decided to go "old TV series" and now halfway through the ascent of man on iPlayer. Gripping, must have been massive when it first came out

Binge watched all 9 episodes of Detective Hole on Netflix over 2 nights.

Love all the Jo Nesbo books about this unique detective & was a bit concerned that the series wouldn't do them justice.

Slightly slow start & took a while to get used to the actor playing Harry but gradually momentum was gained and found the series an excellent watch.

Look forward to the next !
Glad you said you found it a slow start, after 2 episodes I’m a bit underwhelmed by it, and that’s surprising as it’s usually just me and @bolloxbolder on here  with the same taste for  classic Scandi noir. I think its the epic drinking stuff that’s doing it. I know that country and I know it has  a lot of people with huge alcohol problems. But I also know that they are so serious about not drinking and driving that no one drives the morning after even if they just had 3 beers. Or they check their alkometers. He’s depicted drinking before and while at a crime scene. How did he get there, then? By tram? The apparent villain cop is stretching credibility too. Right now it looks to me like Jo Nesbo has been “Netflixed down” to a level Americans can grasp. But you’ve both seen it through to the end, and I trust you  ;)

Im into episode 5 and it does get better but there's nothing particularly brilliant about it. Its watchable but I've seen better.

They make Oslo look to be an awful dump of a place though

Only just got round to watching Afterlife, binged watched it over the last couple of weeks.

Not sure why we’ve not seen it before absolutely loved it.

Cant believe how well written it was, from belly laughing out loud to heartbreaking scenes in seconds.

Some parts of Oslo are an awful dump.
Just like any city, it has its rough parts.

My wife’s family are Norwegian, they have a pretty comfortable life and live in a nice house in Bjerke on the outskirts of Oslo, but the surrounding area near where they live is pretty ordinary. Lots of towerblocks, main roads and industrial estates. And they don’t live in the worst part of Oslo by any stretch of the imagination.

Oslo’s not all Aker Brygge, just like London’s not all Covent Garden.

One of my best mates lives in Oslo, tho' he is Swedish. They live down in Asker which I admit is something like Weybridge but on the coast. The thing is though, I always take the airport express train when visiting them. When a train leaves a big city you always see the arse-end of a city from the window. At least on that westbound track from Central station, you don't. Its city centre and then straight transition to detached houses with nice gardens. Also Scandis don't have a problem with tower blocks,  they don't necessarily mean "downmarket".  I think they worked pretty hard to find or create that bar where Inspector Hole gets shit-faced. But yeah, the area must exist.

The Boys is back on Prime for its final season.

First couple of episodes were pretty good.
  • New season of Invincible also out on Prime, ep 6 of 8 just released and been pretty good so far!

  • I've been enjoying Paradise (Disney+), which has just returned for Season 2.

You definitely need to watch from the start, and it's hard to say too much without giving away a big spoiler from the end of the first episode, but it basically centers on a US Secret Service agent in a whodunit with a unique twist...

Found myself bored to death in recent months scrolling endless series and watching a lot that were very 'meh'. But really recommend this one!

Who’s watching this series of Race Across the World?
Already been to two places I’ve frequented. Fiscardo in Kefalonia and Lesvos.
I’m enjoying all the contestants so far, really looking forward to next weeks as the last lot get booted off and the real hard part of the journey starts.

I just started criminal record on apple. Peter Capaldi is brilliant, I hope it’s not shit at the end like most uk dramas.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I've just started on TwentyTwentySix, the successor to W1A and 2012. This time Ian Fletcher has moved to Miami to join FIFA as Head of Integrity (except that they do not dare to name FIFA, but manage to make fun of the legal restraint by saying the word, but covering it with a bleep). As usual it rips into corporate bullshit and office politics, the TV documentary genre itself, and the latest annoying verbal habit that's entered everyday conversation. This time, thanks to the ex-football pro character, it is always saying "100%" to indicate you agree with somebody. So that's all good...

Not a new series, at least not to me, but started watching Wildearth on freeview channel 91, a series of webcams and live safari reporting on various safari parks within Africa.
Some  fascinating camera work on all sorts of wildlife, from Elephants, Rhino's,  Crocs, and Large Cats to wild birds, worth a look for anyone wanting a relaxing watch and likes the animals...

First episode of the reunion series of Malcolm in the Middle was brilliant. Bryan Cranston is such a great actor and amazing that they managed to get pretty much the whole of the old cast back together despite most of them no longer acting. Shame there is only 4 episodes.

It's very good. Nice set up, good characters played well.  Shame about the cheesy music.
