Germany is another good one. A lot depends on whether or not anyone in a given country has bought the international rights. The Germans, for some unaccountable reason didn't think many would watch dross like Charlton v Preston on a Saturday lunchtime. However Norway may well be problematic as the Scandis have always had a taste for English footie, and Viaplay which operates in all three Scandi countries has bought the rights, and the multiple channels to use them on.aliwibble said:

Not wanting to miss out on what could be our biggest match since Wembley I signed up to a VPN last night so I can watch Charlton TV on Sat afternoon.
It says I'm in Oslo. Is this ok to pay Charlton TV & watch the game from my sofa (which is not in Oslo) or do I need to be in a non-EU country that doesn't have this silly banning order.

Yes, I always watch Charlton from Frankfurt. Thankfully I don't have to physically be any where near what I consider to be a shithole of a city, especially the area around the main train station. For balance, many other big German cities are wonderful.1 -

Generally any place abroad is fine but I think if a specific game is earmarked then there can be restrictions even abroad. Italy and Belgium are usually safe bets whatever.0

Also logout of Charlton site and clear cookies. This will log you out of other sites tooIf you don't want that try private/ incognito mode with the VPN on to buy, and then switch back to normal mode with the VPN on.If not working with Opera VPN , it's not a traditional VPN, try the free proton VPN ( other free ones are available) that also worked for me as long as I had logged out and cleared cookies if I had been browsing to Charlton website without a VPN.0

Log in to your Charlton a/c (not your Charlton buy ticket a/c which is a different log in).
Click on Charlton TV.
Click on live.
Click on purchase pass.
It should be showing to buy.0 -

Based on what people said on here, I changed my vpn from France to Belgium. l logged in on Opera and paid with no problems yesterday lunchtime, so it should work for you. Good luck!golfaddick said:many thanks all

I have surfshark and have put it on almost everything no extra cost works well but don't know about Nord.redman said:I am to get a VPN . I used to have Express and was happy with that until it stopped working and along with their technical support we couldn't fix after a few attempts. I told them I am not hoing to make it my life's work to sort it out and I had spent enough time on it. Then got Nord for 2 years for roughly £90. Very happy with it. I suppose if they work you are happy. What I found on holiday in Europe this year is that I could watch sky sports (via my Virgin account) and BBC/ITV without issues using Nord. Express was not as good in this aspect.0

I tried the free VPN in Opera for a while but it was too slow and inconsistent. Signed up to Nord VPN via a CAFC website link for a discount. Has worked perfectly and, as others have said, when on holiday (I was in Spain) I could set it to UK and watch Sky Sports+ perfectly.0

I think Nord and Surfshark are part of the same company. Just sign up with whichever gives you the best intro offer, as they often promote themselves by sponsoring YouTube channels.
