Campbell is a very good player and did okay yesterday for someone who had allegedly missed his flight home from the internationals, so the chances are he was fairly lagged. All attacking players miss chances. Take Andy Cole at Man Utd: he missed shed loads of easy chances yet still ended up as that team's 4th highest all-time goal scorer.
To summarise, It is definitely moronic behaviour for the cockwombles in the North Upper is hurl abuse at him and Campbell is certainly a championship quality player.

Campbell can improve other aspects of his game and work well within this squad. That is what it is all about surely. He is still young and playing at a better level, people are too quick to write him off. Needs to imrove a few percentage points and use his assets as for me he does beat players with ease and play decent balls in.
Same with Leaburn. I see in him a player that could be terrific at this level but he needs to work on elements of his game. And surely it is the job of the coaches to help him do that.2 -
I have been a harsh critic of TC for a while now but I thought he played a lot better at Watford and even showed a bit of aggression and fouled someone at one point. His crosses were better and he caused Watford a few problems. Bar a typical TC'esque moment of giving the ball away which could have been very costly he did ok.
Maybe he just needs to get a bit angry sometimes and be a bit more aggressive in some of his challenges to improve his end product. NJ should send him on one of those self affirmation courses to give him more aggression.
Lets hope he can do it again in the coming last few games.1 -
I said in an earlier post, but he is at his best when he gets the ball wide on the left. Then he can go for the line or cut in. I think he is as good as anybody in this division when that happens. Where he is less effective is when he has his back to goal. It looks like he doesn't really know what to do. Maybe there is an element of the team to blame. Maybe a pass and run to get to facing goal situation should be practised more. If I was his manager, I would want him trying to get in the position where he is a genuine threat at every opportunity, not on the half way line going backwards. Of course he will still have defensive duties and can improve a bit there, it is the modern game after all but that situation where he lost the ball and Watford had a break was a great example where we were actually in a dangerous position if he played a good ball, not a difficult one, and got into position. I assume our coaches do a lot of video work with players and I think he should be a player who benefits from this analyising his own decisions and performance but also looking at what higher level players of his type do.1

He is young to the level. It has been his first season in the Championship. Before his last season in League One, he was one of those players who could go either way but he really improved in that season. You do face different challenges and sometimes have to work them out.3

He is very young in footballing terms yet also has the most first team appearances for Charlton. So much more to come if only we’d support him properly.4

Plus he'll be 23 in a few months and hasn't over 150 games under his belt, he's not 18 or 19.2 -

been asked to play RWB/LWB/RM/LM/RW/LW, CAM/ST never having a settled position, had to adapt to 4 different managers in that time and when you look at his minutes as a lot have come from sub apps over the years he’s played less than 100 90min games. He also has half a year before he turns 23.He had it incredibly hard in the period where players are expected to develop the most from a footballing sense and has been told for 4 years by fans he’s not good enough and he may never be good enough but that’s not just down to himself6 -
Still think his ceiling is the highest of any player in the squad, and with the right reinforcements in the summer, all the ball carrying and creativity doesn't just rest on him moving forward, he'll look even better6

We all have our views on TC and I tend to agree with the view that he's never going to be any good with his back to the goal and that his strengths lay in his running wide with the ball and either cutting in or going for the line. He works hard for the team and scores the odd goal. His split second decision making when advancing on goal is poor but if it was was good he would be playing at an elite level by now. The key is that opposition sides don't like him. He has that scary gift of pace on the ball and, when running at a full back, creates unrest and apprehension in opposing back lines. This is why I believe he is best coming coming off the bench for the final 30 minutes to be used as an outlet for our defenders and a strike weapon for attack. He has that ability to draw two or three opponents to him so if he needs to work on any aspect of his game I believe it should be to look up and deliver the simple pass to a team mate freed up by his direct running.3

Needs to be more of a squad player next season without so much reliance on him.
Could be used in games where we know we will play with more traditional wing play.
Doesn't suit the two up-top role as in front of goal he just isn't productive enough. But is able to create chances so in games where we play a more traditional RB and let him advance more as LWB, could be useful.0 -

Why take him seriously? He's not a serious poster and he admits it himself, albeit not on this forum. He posts the opposite of what's true, like clockwork. And he never replies to anyone. So it turns out that TC has been playing through injury for the last month, and in Jones words “TC has shown his bravery and his commitment to the club. That is why I love him”I still find it mental that some fans call him lazy and worse, fair play to TC for putting the club first when he easily could have not played and kept himself fit for what might come this summer15
