After 18 months in the role, Edward Mitchell has left his job as Company Secretary, to join Premier League Accrington Stanley as Head of Football Operations.
Chris Parkes has kindly agreed to step in and cover the position until a permanent successor is found.24 -
Strange but I had never heard of him before this thread. Maybe Parkes will come back like Avery did in the youth.1
-
Maybe as a mark of respect we should all take out Corey out at the next home game?0

I can’t remember the exact games, think one was West Brom away where the team arrived late, when NJ alluded to internal issues that would be addressed internally. Now I’m not blaming this bloke but doesn’t his role include things like travel, hotel accommodation etc. I’m probably wide of the mark but ….8

Hmmm.
" Someone" at our club who shall not be named, shouldn't have been so quick to "lose" the member of staff who was doing a fantastic job in that role .....
He'll know who I mean

Unless it is "suggested" by your employer that you find a job elsewhere.ElfsborgAddick said:

He joins the pantheon of Charlton legends, who will be forever remembered on the wall of "who?", located somewhere in the Valley (rumoured to be trap 2 upper north cupboard end)...0

Club secretary at Charlton compared to General Manager at Barnet are totally different jobs.
He probably get to make the numbers up on the bench as well.0 -

Gone to a job with more scope and responsibility. No idea on the pay reconciliation - you'd imagine they are similar figures, maybe a small bump, and not knowing where Corey lives, maybe the commute is better cos he lives in north London, or there's some form of flexibility that we weren't able to offer him for whatever reason.
Hadn't heard of him. Hope he has a good career and I hope we make a sensible hire.2 -
Didn't we poach him from Spurs?
So, maybe he does live in North London...0 -
There’s a lot more to life than just a salary, plenty of people change jobs for less money.ElfsborgAddick said:

So is Chris Parkes back in an interim role until a new replacement has been found?0

I think that depends on how much we are talking about in the first place, Stu. £250k PA to £230k PA, quite possibly. £25k Pa to 23k PA, maybe not so do-able?Stu_of_Kunming said:

No idea on the relative pay or conditions but it should be concern that we are losing key staff (Tom Pell, Will Abbott, Tracey Leaburn and now Corey Boyd) at what seems a very high churn rate. Only TL was with us for any length of time.
The others all left after, IIRC, under two years but in a period when the club should have been on high after promotion, stable ownership etc.
And we still don't have a CEO.7 -
There are just far too many possible variables to be so sure, after my son was born I took an almost 50% cut because my time became far more valuable than money. I now work far less, in a more stable environment and get tons of time with my son, both at school and home.Algarveaddick said:
