We should not be looking at Luton players or reallly any player in league 1.

    We need to think bigger
I have it on good authority that we have already signed Jordan Clark. Sorry to say.
Surprising that it's been agreed already, seeing that until Saturday afternoon we could still have been relegated to L1, while Luton are still in the promotion race from L1?
Much like Preston having the Small deal done and dusted months before the season had ended.

All us pedants are saying that it might be agreed in principle but it isn't done until the contract is signed.

Hi all, hope everyone is doing well and is still buzzing over Saturdays win to retain our championship status for another year.

I’ve made a list of some realistic signings that may be available and transform us due to not getting enough game time, contract expired, etc. Let me know what you think.

    1. Kwadwo Baah (Watford) - would be a very ambitious signing and I’m sure some top clubs would want him but if he’s not getting enough game time, I’d hope we would be in the hat for him.
    2. Jes Rak-Sakyi (Palace) - Again would have other suitors but knows the club. If NJ wants to be more expansive, I don’t see why not.
    3. Jun-Ho Bae (Stoke) - A bit of a utility player that can play on either wing or as a 10. Every time I’ve watched him this season he has impressed me and has got great work ethic as well which NJ will love.
    4. Ben Wilmot (Stoke) - Good championship level centre back that will provide high quality competition to our back line as well as lots of championship experience. Dael Fry another option we have been linked with but i would imagine he would have lots of higher suitors so a bit unrealistic. Rob Dickie from Bristol City is also another option.
    5. Josh Laurent (Burnley) - Will probably stick around with Burnley in the championship but is out of contract at the end of the season. Would be that powerhouse that we sort of lack in the middle (Ebou Adams role at Pompey) and is also very good on the ball with lots of experience.
    6. Mark Sykes (Bristol City) - Championship experience and been linked with him already. Can see this one happening but we will see. Good utility option as well.

I would hope for some transfers from abroad as well to really boost us like Sichenje but these are domestic signings that would come in and definitely improve us. Let me know what you think and if you have any other suggestions.

Hopefully clubs look at this and take note.

Would not mind getting the next KDH.

Very similar to Kelman but if Godden isn’t kept on I’d keep tabs on Sam Smith at Wrexham. I think if they do and don’t go up they will sign another striker and he’s very good friends with Knibbs and Jones.

I don't think it'll happen, I don't think he likes us. He rejected us to go to the finanical bin fire that was Reading (fine, boyhood club I suppose) and then really turns in a performance every time we play him like he's really fired up

I did wonder about him. We need a left back

Will Sheffield United take him back next season although they.are well stacked for left backs , could we compete with QPR ( his loan club ) if they wanted to make it permanent.

Think your talking about Rhys Norrington Davies here not Kiernan Dewsbury Hall

    1) Bwaah doubt he has the physical capabilities or attitude to suit a Jones style management + team
    2) JRS definitely doesn’t have the physical capabilities or defensive effort to suit a Jones system even if he is a cult hero.
    3) Jun Ho-Bae rejected a contract at Stoke if they can’t afford what he wants I very much doubt we can.
    4) Wilmot has a year option Stoke will extend. Dickie + Wilmot + Fry will all already get better offers than what we can offer  and I’d argue RCB and CCB is the least of our concerns
    5) Laurent love it would be all over
    6) Sykes another good option that is suitable and what we need bring

Jones was asked by Cawley last week about links to Sykes and he dismissed it, saying it is not something that club have 'explored' but did say that it's partly due to needing to finish the season strongly first.

Sorry the three tiered name confused me

Still think Norrington Davies might be an interesting option.

He’s never going to admit to any transfers unless they’re practically done. Especially a player like Sykes where you will likely have quite a few clubs interesting considering his versatility experience age and being a free transfer

That said, he didn't outright deny links to Dykes or Sichenje in January

Yes, you may well be right. Lots of managers play it coy, but he did dismiss quite a few links in January (anyone remember Junior Ligue?) that never came to fruition.

Yh because they were probably nailed on to happen. Dykes had links to us and Leceister and now we can see Leceisters financial situation that was probably never going to happen and we brought the Sichenje deal forward and had it in the works for 6 months prior to made sure it happened before anyone else could get involved.

There is no chance Sykes Is only going to have the one option this summer

    Huge caveat as it's FLW

    🚨 EXCLUSIVE 🚨

FLW understands that Charlton Athletic and Leyton Orient are among the EFL clubs that are keen on Lewes winger Devonte West, who has landed a trial at Hull City 🔴⚪️

Doing the typical posting who I like as opposed to any rumour.

Harry Souttar is out of contract end of the season from Leicester. Has been injured all season (sounds like a Charlton player already) and can make us even more solid.

Billy Mitchell, Zach’s older brother, also out of contract and a very good championship midfielder…but does play for you know who.
  • I think Keenan Gough will be in the squad. Highly rated by the backroom.
can see why he never seems to put a foot wrong

A soon to be 33 year old from Luton isn't exactly inspiring. But if he's just a back up then it's not terrible on a 2 year deal. Decent numbers this season (12 goals, 5 assists) in all comps.

I can actually speak first hand here as I’ve seen him play numerous times before he made the move to Lewes in the isthmian league. He is a very direct winger with great pace and a fantastic work rate. Loves to go both ways and is very good in terms of his attacking play. Similar to Josh Hebert, would love to see what the academy/first team can get out of him. But as you say it’s FLW so could be completely made up.

This is how I see it. An experienced head that knows Nathan , knows the league , won't be a starter for us every week.

  • Listening to NTT20s latest championship pod there could be lessons for us in how Oxford went about their business since promotion.
They were talking about lessons learned for of/when they get promoted again and one of the main things was they hope Oxford avoid the established’ championship talent they recruited. Essentially players that were surplus to requirements at more established teams. They used the examples of Matt Phillips and siriki dembele.
Maybe it’s something we should look at avoiding lest we fall into the same trap

Can’t see Clark being a goer, totally opposite to what the club being saying. They want to take the squad on and improve, Clark doesn’t, unless it is a bit part role like Berry this season. He has decent enough stats, but isn’t the type of signing that takes us forward. Personally I don’t believe it.

I think we will see the club looking more overseas this window 2 or 3 maybe

With a mixture of experienced championship/premier league coming in short term. Couple of premier league loans plus 1 or 2 lower league coming in!

Hope you're right, it would be amazing real going backwards signing in my opinion.

Just a quickie on Coventry. We won't get much of a fee as a hefty percentage goes to the Hammers.
Same as Alex Mitchell, Millwall have a  20% sell on clause
West Ham's is supposedly 50% which is significantly more
    150% more.
